Isn't it ironic that you guys are so married to sim racing but get filtered when a game has unconventional driving that you need to rewire your brain to learn. If your problem is with the random battles happening on relatively short stretches of road then that does accurately reflect real life street racing and who can gap the other
>fantastic art direction, environment art, design, and lighting that gives every track an extremely distinct, memorable atmosphere
>10x less frustrating takedowns than B3
>no snap oversteer when grip turning
>basically perfect 60FPS on the damn PS2
>uses the best boost system
>not every track is 10 lanes wide
>signature shortcuts
>crashbreaker usable in way more events
>is actually challenging in a lot of events
>AI drivers aren't pushovers all the time
>SOVLful late 2000's edgy UI charm
>2nd most memorable car list
>near 1:1 port on the PSP
How come Burnout 3 gets all the love when this is the objectively superior Burnout game?

now post a gameplay webm you actually made recently and not one you saved off /vr/ earlier this year when the other racing lagoon secondaries reacted to txr going early access
nothing more pathetic than a fake racing gamer, you can always tell.

Bruh that game was hella wack. Actually I think it's a cool concept but the game makes it way to easy to figure out the meta and people like me with poor impulse control can't help but meta-whore to victory and boredom. It's still really cool collecting all the bodies like pokemon I remember in my second playthrough I used a GameShark code I found on a sketchy Chinese website that had to be converted to work on epsxe. I used it to replace the starter levin body with the corvette one.

Can someone sell me on burnout. I remember having a jampack demo disc that had burnout revenge and I didn't really care much for it. I think it's due to the piss filter. I saw gameplay footage for 3 on YouTube once but I wasn't really getting it. Seems like you can grind against walls and the ai insta kills themselves if they scrape you then the game auto pilots to show you the crash. Can you like toggle that off or something? I don't like auto pilot shit in racing games. I'm not trying to start a fight or nothing I think I just don't get it.
I'd rather not play each game in the series to figure this out. Which ones don't let you grind walls (or at least has stuff sticking out the walls to discourage it) and lets you turn off auto pilot auto camera?

I mean he's not wrong. I wouldn't trust chinkshit pedals since thats what makes you faster, not a higher nm base. Only thing a stronger wheelbase will do is make it a bit easier to catch slides and possibly be more consistent. The moza shilling on YouTube is pretty insane though. Gamermuscle said to me on stream with a straight face that the moza ks wheel is good, when it is anything but that. The buttons rattle, which muddy the FFB effects, and the QR has some QC issues. I'm not the only one with those problems either, as people have had the same issues even after getting multiple replacements from Moza. Their wheelbases are fine and I only went with them because they come in a small form factor which allows me to bring my monitors really close to my face for a good fov, which I wouldn't have been able to do as well with a simagic base. Then you have the European brands like Asetek, Simucube, Fanatec, etc... which are overpriced to hell and back.

Like I like dirt rally and dirt rally 2.0, but their main flaw is the hand crafted maps means you simply memorize things at some point instead of relying on the co driver like you are supposed to and no cozy career mode/team building minigame.

I just like it when the stage is unknown and I have to rely on the co driver to give me directions. Rallying is as much about building a mental image of the track by listening to the pace notes as it is controlling the car and going fast.

Anything from actually driving the stage to make the notes, to having pace notes given to them.
But that's not the point, if rally races were actually as long in games as they are in real life, with 100s of KM of track for a stage, I wouldn't be bothered by the prospect of people having to rec to make pace notes. Because you can't memorize it all anyway when the distances and amount of corners it that great.
When people do 3-10km runs with multiple restarts and shit, they will be memorizing that shit far more.
>they come to him in a dream?
It was revealed to me in a dream!
Why do memorizing cucks have to jump in their ego when nobody was even talking about them anyway?
>ok then don't practice like gt3s at spa practice but don't be a bitch
Yeah, I don't.
Still, with static tracks you rather quickly start to remember the track.
>you're at the hard limits of what a game can do.
Please memcuck, don't tell me "we don't have the technology" dirt 4 literally did it, and I bet we could do it even better these days with better hardware and tech.
We absolutely can get lot of randomly generated rally tracks.
Speaking of which, I remember the rally event we had here where some people made custom rally tracks of their hometown or some shit.
Good times, with completely unexplored territory.

>he physics in dirt 4 were so weird, extremely forgiving.

>it was this weird in-between of wanting to be a sim but also arcade
You did disable all the assists, right? You did select "sim" and not "arcade" driving physics, right?
>>28576251
It's true that drivers can, and do recon, or even that it's common for some tracks to repeat year after year, but the roads themselves are usually too long to really remember the way you learn them in circuit races. Most people don't have Rohrl-like photographic memory "I saw the track in my dream" autism so it was nice of D4 and GT5 to try and fuck around with randomisation of the track layout. Having no idea what's behind the next hairpin is what makes rally fun for me so I understand why Anon's so autistic about it. It's a shame that more games didn't try implementing randomized tracks.

i can run the nurburgring in my head but i don't actually remember the whole thing accurately no matter how many times i've done it
problem is rally stages in games are relatively short, sometimes less than the 'ring, so it's easy to memorize, especially if you are a weird little racing game autist that MUST only play YOUR genre for esoteric reasons and never ever ever try anything else, thus ensuring you have literally nothing else to think about but the 8 km long babby stages in the only game you play, making memorization inevitable..

> especially if you are a weird little racing game autist that MUST only play YOUR genre for esoteric reasons
Rally is just fun, it's not esoteric. It doesn't require me to set something up to race with others. I can just go and do it whenever I please.

in a game you're not going to suddenly come upon a log or a massive jump out of nowhere, you either get the continuation of road you thought was there or you misobserved it and judged the corner wrong.

It's honestly jarring how different two iterations of a car feel between two different sims (ACC and LMU).

Cars, as inanimate objects, do not have a gender. While some people may refer to cars with gendered pronouns (usually "she"), this is a form of personification, not a reflection of the car's actual biological sex, according to some language and culture websites.

it's kind of frustrating that sims handle so differently from each other, even though they are supposed to simulate something that exists in real life and can be scientifically recreated through physics and math. It makes it hard to hop between them when you have hundreds of hours in a single sim and are so used to how it feels.

Cars and tracks are 7 euros each at most (exc. Nordschleife at 8) so still cheaper than irenting but more expensive than other sims, but packs can compete on price with DLC (if it's not discounted at 50%+ off).
The premium pack not being re-purchasable is just dumb, nothing is stopping a player from making a new account and buying it again, that small change would possibly make them a bit more money.
They want people to buy the premium pack which is not far priced from any other sim+every DLC bundle but the starter pack is just bad when you can get base AMS2/ACC for the same price during a steam sale both having much more base content - so for me it's either get the premium pack or nothing.
Maybe they could make the packs work like "complete your collection" bundles on steam, add two more so the steps are smaller - if no content got added, buying the premium pack right away or buying every pack step-by-step would cost the same - perhaps that could make them some money and make the game more popular?
I've never ran a company so the whole post might be just filled with retarded thinking.

The problem with making a new account is that I would lose cars that have since been removed from the store and the premium pack doesn't even include everything anymore. 7β¬ for cars with awful interiors with fake dashboards and tracks that have no day/night transition is just a robbery pure and simple.
I do agree that they should rework packs, imo they should just ditch their own store and return back to selling DLCs and make the game not free to play, but cost 10β¬ and have it include all the content of the basic pack. Their currency doesn't even make sense anymore, I just checked and it has gotten so expensive since the time I bought some that the conversion rate is nearly 1:1 making it utterly pointless.

wrong
cars don't have a sex because they are not biological and cannot reproduce on their own but they do have a gender because they are made by people and we inherently give them human features.
cars with hips are girls if there is bodywork over the rear wheels that is less than vertical, leaving a bulged fender appearance over the entire wheel. so miata, 350z, mustang, challenger, 'maro, most sports cars have this kind of styling feature. if you can draw an imaginary line from the center of the rear tire, go straight up and hit external bodywork it's a female car.
cars with slab sides up the rear fender all the way to the roof or trunk deck are male cars. so most commuter trash and utility vehicles are male. if you draw the same line off the rear tire and end up in the interior of the car instead of outside the fender bodywork it's male.
keep in mind this is different from the way the car makes the driver look. miatas are indeed girls but you are still seen as very gay for driving one.

You are correct but:
>performance
we can emulate at higher than 60fps on PC now.
>gutted career mode
still miles ahead of GT7's ''career''
>the over abundance of standard cars using ps2 and psp models
Not ideal, but we can play most of the game using only premium cars. Yeah, the selection gets much smaller, but GT3 had a small car list as well and was possibly the best GT to date.
That beind said it was retarded of PD to widen the scope of GT5 to such a ridiculous degree that it came out feeling unpolished and unfinished. Did we really need:
>track editor
>Dynamic weather and day-night cycle
>nascar, kart, rally, top gear special events etc
>B-spec mode
???
They should have just focused on making a really solid career mode, adding online multiplayer, improving on physics, sound and graphics. On that solid foundation they could have exapanded with GT6. GT5 suffered from too much ambition, not enough focus.

it was the last time they really put effort in the franchise, outside of maybe GT Sport since that was actually built from the ground up unlike a certain other simcade franchise. GT7 is just GT Sport with better physics, more cars, and slightly better graphics.

showing more clearly what's different here
the car on the bottom is the original with a normal copypaste AC-compatible lra.
there's nothing really wrong with this except
>the panhard rod is perpendicular to the axle, so it limits suspension travel
>the three-trailing arm design doesn't control the axle very well in extremes, when the car's body rolls and pressure is put on the rear axle in a turn by accelerating, the whole rear axle yaws slightly, causing unpredictable handling and weird torque reactions.
i think that is because the middle link is acting like the driveshaft, and the axle pivots around it in extremes. the panhard rod isn't really doing its job here, either, since AI can't model it properly anyway.
the car on the top has my slop-free ai slop-axle, based on the geometry actual E-body 4-link rear suspension with some changes for AC's sake. note the panhard rod is asymmetrical at rest, allowing for more upward travel on compression. the double trailing arms now control the axle's roll without also acting as a pivot, so in cornering the axle stays straight on and the car no longer suddenly snaps outwards on acceleration
in the front only the upper knuckle joint was moved inward, for slightly more accurate steering geometry.

It's totally possible to memorise long stages. I've almost got the Targa Florio (or at least the GPL abstraction of it) memorised, and that's 40 miles long.
I heard the issue with dirt 4 was A) it was made up of hexagonal sections that repeated quite often, and B) the fact that any section could come next meant they had to hide the next one - so no long straights

Thanks, man. I've hit the guardrail an obscene number of times before I started getting it right. These types of stages are great at testing your skills, they demand surgical precision if you really want to be fast and smooth. Its easier when you go for the handbrake but I prefer going for a flick + shift lock like in the clip. A few turns later there is a segment that is a bitch to do in one long smooth drift, without a manji, but it feels amazing to get right. Give it a go at Maze Pass and I'm sure you'll reach the next level, anon.

DR2.0 is not pad only, but its a rally simcade with narrow stages (especially those at New Zealand, Argentina, Greece and Monaco) that you can play just fine with a controller. But if you meant drifting, yeah, I don't think its possible to drift properly in a sim with a pad, you need a wheel.
