The story is meant to have only one ending. That's how the Prophecy goes.
But we're going to find ways around it. I expect 4 at least:
>1. Weird Route - We're making Noelle stronger so she can become The Angel and take our place in the Prophecy, so she'll get banished and we get to keep palying
>2. Kindness - We've had multiple times now where being kind enough to all leads to more positive outcomes. Ralsei's hope that niceness could change something may end up being true right at the end
>3. Shadow Crystals - They're all about trying to find FREEDOM. The result will probably be some freedom from the storyline but also derailing more things.
>4. Twisted Sword - Literally going "between the lines" of Weird Route and the Shadow Crystal stuff, getting a weapon that may be able to let the heroes break free and make their own ending even without us.

I've been huffing that good copium and have a new crackpot theory.
Kris Knight isn't off the table at all.
The Knight is a shadow. One cast by the light of the SOUL passing through something in Kris: Dess' SOUL.
In Undertale, Asriel gained power by taking in Chara's SOUL when they died.
Deltarune is the opposite. Dess died and Kris has taken in her SOUL. They are the Knight, together.
The Knight that we see is a shadow projection of Dess' SOUL in the Dark. This is why it's always with/watching Kris like when it stops them from going after Susie in Chapter 4's ending. This is also why it needed Kris to open the Fountain in Chapter 2's ending. And why Tenna says he had a deal with the Roaring Knight but then also says his deal was with Kris.

Do you guys have a headcanon about why is the roaring knight so strong?

Some kind of dark corruption?
Mastery of Dark magic?
Regardless of the Roaring Knight's "Darksona", remember the Knight should be a lightner... yet the Knight seems to be extremely proficient in dark world matters, combat and magic.

It's Dess' corpse puppeted by the true enemy, whether it's the actual knight wearing her as a meat suit or gaster or whoever.
Her SOUL is inbetween realities, and the Pure Crystal will help us find her.
