>Literally poor people: The alliance
Anon, ir does not matter if you are poor or not. Videogame publishers kill games for everyone. Nobody can play The Crew today.

>Because if they support the initiative, they will lose their sponsors.
If they don't support the initiative they will lose their viewers. Now viewers = no sponsors. Unless their main viewrs don't care about videogames.

>EA making sure to kill as many of their games before any laws come into effect from the Stop Killing Games initiative
I expect all other scummy videogame publishers to speed up the death of as many of their games as they can.

>How come game devs were able to release server hosting functionality 20 years ago and not now?
Videogame publishers have not birthed the idea of pushing planned obsolence for digital products yet. Once they did they started trying to wrestle control of videogames from gamers.
>videogame publishers started making games have always online DRM and server dependencies so they can be killed
>videogame publishers started delisting older versions of games from stores so people can't buy them anymore and are forced to buy overpriced remakes
Remember when Blizzard pulled Warcraft 2 from GOG so they can sell their crappy remake on their crappy Blizzard launcher?
Remember when Epic delisted Unreal and Unreal tournament? Remember when Beamdog originally pulled the classic versions of Baldur's Gate 2 in order to sell only the remake? Remember when Ubisoft removed The Crew from peoples libraries, killed the servers and delisted the game months before The Crew 2 was about to come? There are countles example of this shit being pulled by videogame publishers.
