Honestly fantastic.
I might read some of his books now because of this, he did recommend a few I haven't gotten round to.

Agreed.
I think the only thing left is attempting to formulate an idea for what the secret boss could be.
Considering the themes are very heavily past/future, two brothers/two worlds thing going on, it'd need to be an object that's either outside that entirely, or right in the middle.
The only thing I could think of is a fake perpetual motion machine desk two that the two of us have shared but haven't really used.
It's futuristic in principle but functionally like an old newton's cradle. And the idea of perpetual motion itself defies entropy, the passage of time, etc.
Honestly fantastic.
