I play the OG SH2 every year, this year I'm playing with the over the shoulder camera mod to just change things a little bit.

But SH2R misses the mark. The cutscenes are inferior. They keep focusing on the FACE. They have a FACE MOCAP TECH so they NEED TO SHOW IT, which detracts from every single cutscene.

-padded to hell and back
-is that a brand new room that wasn't in the original game? I wonder what is th- ammo and mannequin, repeat 10x
-the aesthetic is taken straight from the movies, not from the original game
-sanitized textures, they have no grunge grime whatsoever
-boss fight changes (every boss except for eddie roars now)
-seriously, the roaring is a real fucking problem, am I playing a generic fucking MMO? why is every boss roaring with particles falling from the ceiling?
-Maria's VA sounds bored (good as Mary, though, except for the letter reading)
-Maria is not sexy
-Maria is not flirt

It's mostly a matter of patience to learn new systems, to learn new control schemes, and to accept the sometimes less polished or experimental elements.

Some have higher learning curves than others. A lot of people don't have the patience for this.

I probably can't sit through an entire playthrough of a PC-98 hexagonal strategy game, but I can at least appreciate them.
