MOBA's generally have a low skill curve, one-dimensional gameplay and they're popular because they're easy to immerse yourself within and get completely hooked on an artificial risk-reward feedback loop. You're defensive because you're a dopamine junkie, rationalising your degenerative behaviour as any addict would. It's okay, but acceptance is the first step in recovery. Be brave. Additionally, they're boring, poorly designed games that require you to turn into a input-output machine without intelligence. The veneer of "healthy" social competition belies their inherent lack of depth in design, artistic value and predatory business model.

I'll continue playing a variety of RTS, RPG, fighting, independent and character action games, of notable quality and critical acclaim, made by developers who care about what they express and put into the world. And, yes, I will alone, as I would while reading valuable works of literature. I'll play them for a reasonable two hour session. On weekends, I join my friends in a pub and play a lightheartedly competitive, or intensely cooperative board-game, discuss our mutual insights into the our shared game of interest, and enjoy each others company in a socially amicable setting, as any sensible person would. Only a buffoon would speak to the contrary, though I dare you to try without resorting to casting aspersions out of desperation.
