this is the thing I love about all of toby's tracks, he always understands he's making vidya music and always structures them in a way that keeps you moving forward and keeps the energy up
whether it's the drums or the bass or the opening riff of the sanctuary there's always some of part of the song that just keeps going and the rest of the song builds off of it and never has any downtime
I played in a jazz group of 4/5 guys and you really learn fast how essential the drums and bass are for keeping everything together and how they drive the entire group no matter what, toby plays piano so he probably innately gets this too since you're doing chords or a backing track with one hand at all times
