Honestly too much of a waste of fuel. I've always said that Homeless people need to be given a choice, since they occupy taxpayer funded and maintained areas (even if they live in the wilderness/BLM/national parks). They can stop doing drugs, get clean and get mental help and job training and some medical care, all while doing some kind of work, though I'm sure what that would be.
Those that refuse can go on a walled, guarded reservation in the Nevada desert (where the Federal government owns 80 percent of state land) where they can roam around in tent shanties until they want to change. You can get put in the reservation if you get arrested for vagrancy three times. First time, you get put into a federal registry for homeless people. Once you get clean and stay clean for a year, you can get your records expunged from the Federal Homeless Persons Registry.

Yeah, because where I live (Denver) most of the homeless people are in such a degenerated mental state, that they are essentially locked in a prison of their mind's creation, fueled by drugs and mania that is only exacerbated by their situation. They are extremely aggressive and attack people. You given them a sammich or a juice box and they throw it in the next trash can, or right back at you. They walk out into traffic, make messes of public trash cans, and shit in public sidewalks or children's playgrounds. They don't need a patronizing, wealthy liberal to ask them if they are OK, anybody living on the street is not fucking OK, that's not a choice. It's against societal norms to live outside like a feral animal, which is what they become, wild, feral animals. They need to be forced into mental and physical health treatment for their ailments and made to become functional members of society. Society spends far more than it needs to create this fucking illusion of self-determination and personal rights for homeless people, when all it does is affect everybody else and cost us billions.

I know it's probably not real, because it makes no sense when you think about it. But I really, REALLY hope I'm wrong. I don't want the people I've lost over the years to be gone for good.
