It wasn't just any stairs. Anvilmar was inaccessible to folks not good at jumping in WoW so they took down the server to fix the issue. Then five hours later said they got sick and their families got sick and that they weren't even planning on launching the server today anyway, i.e., ragequitting, for the day. It was pretty funny.
