These days I would beat his times no prob.
People seem to ridicule them more for taking the stick home. I think it's cool and would take that one home if I found a cool one like that. Would make a nice reference too.
And if that person speedruns XBC games, that's even bigger reason to keep it. Man, if I found a stick or rock reminding me of something from a game or anime I like I would shamelessly take it back home, no matter how "reddit" that would be considered by /v/.
