Ok anon, I'll go grab the notebooks this week. Hope the recipe is there. She had a lot of recipes memorized because she was a cook back in the day but in her old age she started writing them.
I'll also ask my aunt if the recipe isn't there, they used to cook together so there's a big chance she remembers how to make it.

Her mother made some of those individual steak pies - one of the best thing I've eaten, still think about them to this day. The whole meal was great, I really like your potatoes but that pie was out of this world. Crispy flaky buttery top, and the gravy inside - tremendous!
