The easiest way to tell WoW won and FF lost is that WoW actually has an active Pserver community. Everytime a big Pserver approaches launch, you'll see plenty of threads on /v/ about it, they'll often even get their own generals on /vg/. Meanwhile, I have never seen a thread for a FF14 pserver in the entirety of the 13+ years I've been posting here. Even fucking Runescape gets threads and generals for Pservers. Even dead games like City of Heroes or Star Wars Galaxies do. Meanwhile, nobody cares about FF14, the only players are mazed paypigs. WoW won.
