I’ve gone down this rabbit hole and asked this exact question.
What it comes down to is if the earth is a ball floating through space and life is random and evolution is real, then the concept of God and the underlying concepts of religion are essentially pointless. It’s easier to control the masses when they don’t realize their true potential.
With a flat earth…or a plane that was developed by God. Humanity is special and unique. We are in essence, Gods ourselves as we create life and observe reality.
It’s essentially the difference between life is random and life is unique.
