I'm in a very similar spot, I get overwhelmed very easily by others' expectations and feelings, whether they're positive or negative, and that whole social thing in general, despite having social needs like every other human beings... which is why I tend to just burn out from time to time and delete everyone. But you know... this whole argument of practicality is profoundly insulting towards the human component of all those people bonding with me, I can't in good conscience just use them to fill my shallow punctual social needs and delete them when I don't want them around anymore, it weighs heavily on my mind... but everything weighs on my mind in a very similar fashion all the time, it's a knot bag really when I start thinking about it, it simply never ends...
Aren't humans just rotten to the core in their nature, as they try to satiate their ephemeral whims while betraying one another constantly?
It's because there's no answer to be found that I give none to others, I don't have the pretention to tell you if what we're doing or how we're feeling about it is right or wrong, but it's certainly very disrespectful. I wish prolonging my existence didn't mean erasing others' lives and twisting other people's emotions to fulfill my selfish needs, yet we're all bound by this gross condition...
