You know I think one of the biggest things that actually separates "modern" 4chan from the olden days is that back then, people would just outright say it - they're on an anonymous site, there's no way of tracking them, in an environment like back then you would absolutely have way more people just shrug and say that they hate something because it's indie and nothing more
Meanwhile modern 4chan is in such a demographic state that you have way too many people who will spend what is rapidly coming to be 15+ years fuming over a piece of media they don't like but they'll put it under 6 million billion trillion gorillion layers of irony and obfuscating to the point that it's very visibly making them miserable as fuck from the strain compared to what the average dude from back then would've been like

"turn off telemetry" is a vague statement though.... Windows 10 have so many services that does nothing that spying on you, and even if you find a way to disable them (and their surrogate recovery services (the whole fucking OS is acting like a malware lol)) they will just "fix" your change in the next update, that same update you will be forced to install because most developers nowadays are too lazy to check their dependencies cycle, making their software/games not boot if you are 2 years behind in updates.

It's not only micro$hit that fucked up the entire PC industry, it's also the laziness of the users and developers that let this entire shit show grew so big.

You know that there is bots fighting against this initiative when you see them mass reporting to mods to move the discussion elsewhere, a place where most people won't care, since it's purely related to video games and ONLY video games.
Clearly, some publishers/companies aren't happy about this, and of course, I would put my money on Ubisoft to be in the mix, knowing their track records here...
