Reminds me of a Christmas special for "Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack".
In that episode cap'n K'nuckles seeks to escape the beating for ending up on Neptune's naughty list. In doing so, he accidentally saves the whale Bubbie from drying up.
As a result he (because Thurop van Orman isn't Ben Bocquelet) ...still ends up awaiting swift punishment from Neptune's underlings as - which they stated outright - he had only been a good person for five minutes out of entire year's worth of heinous, despicable and abominable behaviour.
He only gets spared because all the other deplorable evildoers of Stormalong had mounted an uprising over "persecution of bad people" and overpowered his punishers.
