Just going by sales is a straight up retarded metric. You still need to account for dev budget, marketing budget, was it worth spending all that on this game vs another game, was it worth spending that money on this game instead of sticking it into the stock market, etc. It's the same as moronic Crapcom shills going B-B-BUT WILDS SOLD 10 MILLION IN A WEEK!!!!! Legs are important. These games are franchises and part of series for a reason. There's no point if the games don't grow the series or keep an audience. Arise released during the peak of covid and the DLC sold like straight up ass and fucking flopped. This means that the majority of people who bought Arise didn't bother to stay. The Tales gachas keep dying. There's no passionate leaders to take the reigns for the Tales series anymore. On top of all this, the series is still under bandai Namco which is full of retards itself. The future of the series is pretty grim.
