No, in fact Maelle is probably the dumbest character in game besides Monoco and the other Gestrals.

Good ideas. They clearly had a very strong artistic vision, and the music and voice acting knocked it out of the park. The levels were stunning to look at and the combat was very stylistic, but with more experience under their belt I hope both have more mechanical depth in the next game.

Young Verso did not want to paint. Only when he was older did he develop the courage to say so. He enjoyed his time in the painting because he was playing with his family. They're no longer there to play with him, the painting offers him nothing. Alicia COULD have fixed this by being willing to leave (this would've required Aline to also be willing) which could've meant they could come back and play with him, and that future generations could do the same. But both Aline and Alicia just want to live with painted Verso, so the soul continues to languish.
Silksong is going to be Game of the Year.

In terms of the attacks, you're not missing anything. If you overlevel in E33 by doing side content early combat just becomes tedious. But if you go mostly story content until the paintress, the need to dodge should keep you on your toes. In the end it's simply not a difficult game.

After beating Monoco I left it on the victory screen and did some shit around myself and ended up grooving to the looping sax solo for like 30 minutes. This frognigger is fucking G E M

>I just wish that the Maelle ending had some semblance of a hopeful outcome for Maelle herself.
Hard to do that when she's dead and replaced by Alicia.

nah, other people in a dream are just solipsistic emanations of the dreamer's mind. The lumierens, whether genuinely sentient or not, were not the same as dream entities. They learned and knew things independent of the painter. The canvas is more like some weird alternate reality that painters can project themselves into.

The game was discussed to death. We had gorillion E33 threads in just a month. No need to devolve into a shitty general for schizos.
For the sake of the living, we must part with the dead.
I am very much looking forward for next SE's game though.
