NG was already on the way out in the late 2000s as Flash animations moved to creators' own websites (Weebl's Stuff, AlbinoBlackSheep, etc.) or YouTube, and flash games went to either the developers' own websites or aggregators (Kongregate, Friv, Andkon, etc.). You could say it was conclusively over by the time the iPhone became mainstream, as that was pretty much the death knell of Flash as a whole.

The last time I was on Newgrounds was around early 2021, and the entire site was just FNF stuff. Now, even that game is irrelevant. NG simply isn't worthwhile to modern audiences, especially as it's a site designed exclusively for desktop viewing.

/co/ - What was up with the Barney Derangement Syndrome in the 90s?
Anonymous No.149364679
It’s pretty straightforward, OP.
>Has exactly one personality trait
>Design doesn’t lend itself to much expression beyond that one personality trait
>Pretty much designed solely to be really popular with little kids
>Parent who end up having to watch it with said kids get annoyed with it
Barney was, ultimately, just another harmless kids mascot. But unlike other little kids programming like say, Sesame Street, there was very little that appealed to anyone outside that little kid demographic.
Everything that made Barney appealing to little kids was also exactly what made him obnoxious to the parents and older audiences that would inevitably get stuck watching it with said little kids.

If you need a giant wall of text to “prove” that a character is *insert scale here*, then your character PROBABLY isn’t. Just a hunch.
You can get away with it a little bit, but when your argument is about how this guy who has never even destroyed a mountain, much less a planet, can go around destroying *insert big number here* universes, then no. I’m not going to buy it. No matter how many walls of failed middle school math text you post to argue otherwise.
