To top it off, racebait threads are out of control. Any random off topic thread gets out a 3 day ban, yet the racebaiting put the final nail on the coffin.
Once an userbase is dying, I think there's no shame in relaxing the rules to host some kind of off topic threads, as long as they don't are just porn and racebait.

I don't think 4chan HAS to be the place where 'things are happening'. I don't think it has to create the new trend each month. It just needs to enforce good rules and relax the softer rules.
