Average modern Gentoo user.
>but I use the OpenRC profiles!
and you pull in most of the systemd tools anyway because the distro was taken over long ago by fags getting paid off by Red Hat to shit the place up. Nearly every last unique Gentoo tools for managing the kernel and lower user space has been killed off by now. Can't even trust the kernel it comes with by default or OpenRC these days. Same fag squatting on both is the reason why you can't discuss other inits on the forums anymore.
Is it any wonder a distro goes to shit when everyone that knew what they were doing ends up banned?
Real shame about Gentoo. You can still make a decent distro for yourself out of it. But good luck finding any guides on how to do that these days. Gentoo of old would have come up with a better way to manage /dev by now and would have switched over to something like s6 init by default long ago. But if you do that you can import systemd's cancer so everyone is forced to suffer. God forbid you have a distro by default that doesn't cater to Red Hat's whims.
