I associate those feelings with positive emotions. There's nothing better than getting lost in a metroid game. Look at Prime and notice how getting lost is out of the question, that's what makes it so weak compared to Super.

Metroid became poor no matter which way you look at it. At best it's a sci-fi 3D Zelda in first person.

Prime 2 fixed the attrocious level design featured in Prime 1.
>go through hallway
>come back through hallway
>do this four times
>fight boss
>proceed to next area
>this time platform around
>then go ALLLLLL the way back to the first level of the game
>then go ALLLLL the way back to the latest level in the game
on and on and on

Prime 2 has circle and looping design. Prime 2 has you complete an area and move on. Prime 2 opens up a shortcut from each area to each other area.

Not the other anons, but this is the problem with Prime 1's level design. Prime 2 isn't like this. Magmoor caverns is a concession of Prime 1, and Prime 2 thoughtfully uses its entire light world as some semblance of Magmoor caverns, and the dark world is as Prime 1's overworld. portals bridge the gaps. and navigation becomes a puzzle in and of itself, which is way more engaging than the mediocre backtracking present in Prime 1.
