Would you leave "present" on your resume after quitting?
After quitting my job about five to six months ago due to gay return-to-office (RTO) policies, I've spent my time traveling and working on various personal projects and NEET'ing. Now that I'm re-entering the job market, I'm updating my resume and facing a question that I think a lot of people might encounter:
Is it acceptable to list my last position as "present" on my resume, even though I left several months ago? For context, many companies and third-party background check services require candidates to re-enter their actual employment dates during the hiring process. When that happens, I would, of course, provide the true dates I was employed.
I'm curious—what is the best way to approach this situation on a resume?
