In terms of characterization yeah, no one can compete even in 1.X. But most of that comes from the wonderful camerawork, snappy dialogue, several chekhov's gun moments, and custom animations. In comparison 2.7 looks like a highschool project.

I rewatched the argument scene between Rover and Phrolova in 2.5 and the difference in quality to the janky desynced in-engine talking and cutscenes in 2.7 because of the fucking mobile version is actually insane. I really do not want this to be the quality baseline moving forward into 3.0.
