I've been a toiler my whole working life for the most part, 34 now. Strangely enough, I've hit numerous PRs after fairly strenuous days of work. My theory is that all the non maximal physical stuff at do at work primes my cns and makes sure my muscles are full and warmed up. I cant think of another explanation. On the other side of it, on my days off, I have to wait for at least 3-4 hours after I wake/eat/caffeine/shower before I'm able to be my very best in the gym. For a while I tried to wake up and lift before work, but always felt weak and flat regardless of having pre workout and some carbs before.
Even if you feel fried from work, hit the gym anyway, you might surprise yourself.
