No its always been a thing just not many showcase it because people focus killer guides on specific powers and rarely talk about basekit techs and as such, many people thought it was just ping when its always been a consistent technique.
Without it upright pallets would basically be safezones for survivors and there would be even less reason to ever respect a pallet.
Without momentum tricks (touch an object when changing direction will keep your topspeed) many safe tiles would be bloodlustonly tiles
