Factorio is one of the least user-friendly games out there today. The tutorials are SHIT. They're fucking shallow and useless for learning the later and even intermediate mechanics.
Space age was launched prematurely and these assholes have the balls to keep the tutorial as useless as it was prior to 2.0.

This game is not high IQ. It's just learning how shit works yourself because the game is terrible at teaching it to you. That's not due to a lack of intellect. Human beings have different kinds of intelligence across individuals. Factorio is the common variable across why people think it's too hard.
In Factorio's case, it does a way too efficient job at filtering noobs not because it's hard, but because it refuses to help them at all.
That's one of its biggest flaws as a game. And having a furry faggot on the dev team. That's a huge L.
