Yuri is shit because it's a genre not meant for men, but very often pushed onto men. Most men, at some level, understand that yuri is cuckoldry. A soft and feminine form of cuckoldry, sure, but it's still about (you) watching what is presented as (your girl) getting taken by someone who isn't (you). You run into gender dysphoria from trying to insert as (your girl) or the love interest, and that bothers men. So most men throw up their hands at the genre and go on their way.
And things would be pretty okay if that was the story of Yuri. Because that's just what happens with most genres. It's not for you. But in our modern social internet where everyone has a friendly neighborhood discord trans colony in their ear every day, Yuri is constantly pushed. It's presented as "purest love," it's presented as "what every female character should have," it's presented as the correct answer for the vast majority of female characters who display even the smallest iota of camaraderie on screen. Basically, Yuri is infested with fujoshi, and fujoshi are one of the most disgusting creatures to deal with.
So when a straight cis man is trying to consume media, and enjoy their day and feel like things are right for the world, the last thing they want is to see two girls slobbering on each other while Discord names with pronouns in their profile decry it as, "the best thing ever." It annoys men, it frustrates men, and it reminds men that most media isn't really catered to them, anymore. But everyone still acts like it is. Girl on girl hasn't had an erotic mystique since 2013, but it's still sold like it is. Like men should be honored to see girls kissing girls. Like it's some sort of civic service.
No. I want to see cute girls kissing handsome boys (ideally white) who have established a relationship built on mutual affection and respect. I'm tired of always being the "ally." Being an ally sucks. I want a girl.
