ideas, all ideas, are public domain, tangible, physical possession are not, they are real property, not ideas, the moment they are uttered for someone other than the original thinker to hear/see/experience.
just like you can't trap the wind with a net, you can't posses an idea unless you encapsulate it in a medium, and then and only then can you actually claim ownership, and that only applies to the medium, the possession of the idea gets transferred in the medium its housed, but the ownership remains with the medium, not the seller.
you reading this post means that the ideas herein are public domain, even if i claim to be the author of said ideas, i'm no longer the owner, mankind has become the owner of it, all of mankind, as far as the idea spreads.
