You know if these people really wanted to be woke, like really really, you'd think they'd actually examine the text as is without trying to 'Song of the South' it, and actually think about the implications. I mean, for one, I think the human kids are incontrovertibly white. Not only the 'white rapper' comment (and subsequent ectobiological backtracking that leads Dirk and them to be white), or the peachy/CAUCASIAN debacle, or the 'pale monkeys' comments from trolls, but also a lot of the motifs don't really work if they're a different race. Why would Jade be 'Pacific Islander' (wow, very specific!) if it would make Jake and in turn Grandpa the same race? Grandpa looks like he just stumbled out of the Anglo-Zulu war! Was Dad white, but John brown? Did John's white adoptive dad give him a book that has the word 'octoroon' (or whatever it was) in it?
Anyways, so the kids are white. The implications of this are really weird. I mean, all human life except them gets eradicated, and they go on to make their new world in Earth C. They have to repopulate it and they can only do it with ectobiology, with what I presume is only them as a source for paradox slime. Does that mean that the human part of Earth C is just a big white ethnostate? I mean, the majority of what survives of old Earth's culture is primarily a bunch of pop culture shit some American 13 year olds thought was cool at the time. 5,000 years of culture across the globe but most of what survived was Con Air and Bill Cosby I think that's a more interesting thing to examine than trying to do some retroactive mea culpa mea culpa on behalf of a white guy from Massachusetts in the 2009.
