Get some disposable scalpels. They do the job well and are much cheaper than hobby 'scraping' tools.

Looks extremely basic, basecoats and a wash that left too stark of stains and some drybrushing that built up an unsightly texture, fur hair and face are muddy and hard to read even at this level of zoom so on the tabletop it'll be lost even more, details like the tubing under his left arm left unpainted, mouldlines or hair stuck on the yellow of the right pauldron, drybrushed highlights on the cape are haphazard and spilled onto the wolf tail on the right leg, staff starts out black at the top near the icon yet is ruddy red at the bottom matching the rocks, not sure what's going on there, no effort to blend the tactical rocks into the rest of the base
3/10, paint is thinned but a lot of amateurish mistakes and lack of direction to the paintjob

The LoC gives absolutely bonkers buffs, it's the best buff piece in the game. Typhus is the tiniest bit punchier (+1A in strike, +2A in cleaver) but the LoC's buffs + ability to take enhancement make him so much deadlier and he also supercharges DST to an absurd degree. Lance and Sustained Hits considering their weight of attacks, high AP, good damage and -1 T means they charge a T8 unit and they're wounding on 2s. Typhus has a bit of shooting which eh whatever (funnily enough the LoC is the only Lord with grenades which sort of ties him with Typhus smite) and then makes a unit a bit tankier in melee, but you don't need to be tankier in melee when you kill everything in one activation.

The tabards break the black monotony. Plus they go hard with accessories. BA has details but they are mostly sculpted on the armor, so you can paint them the same color as the armor and let washes do the work.
Templars have tabards ove the armor, so you have to paint cloth and its folds. They have talismans and necklaces, and lots of purity seals. A lot of random trinkets, even more than space wolves.
And the chains on their weapons can be tricky to paint.
Also black is easy to do OK but very hard to do right. You want off black, like very dark grey or blue, and not pure black, and that is difficult to layer consistently.

if you have plastic glue that uses an applicator brush you can drip some between the gaps and squeeze them really hard (or clamp if you have one) for a few minutes, it'll melt the plastic some more and squish it up and out so the gap is less noticeable

I have an idea for mine since I will start doing some with the Tomb World box.
Their base armors will be gold, but I will make them all different by removing the gold with battle damage, scratches. I will do some funny things like a Necron warrior having just a golden head, some looking like they have the classic Necron scheme because of how old they are, etc.

A. Retcon vast swathes of their lore like they did for the Necrons and make the current Eldar a small existing but non-representative faction within the larger group. Make sure that there have always been super powerful and successful Eldar that have been so good at their job the Imperium and other factions have just never taken notice of their activities until now and give them some vast plot twists from the past that were 100% their doing like the Horus Heresy being part of their plan or something.
B. Just power through the lore and slowly start making their sacrifices mean something for their own sake and the Imperium's. Either commit to positioning them as an ally to the Imperium with occasional fighting breaking out like between Imperial factions or else make them a major existential threat to the Imperium like the other Xenos factions.
