In any case, I read Kris as being generally withdrawn to fate, mostly engaged with trying to keep his promise, whatever it is. His increased damage when solo against the Knight could just be a matter of the intensity of that moment, or even so that players have a better chance of clutching a win. I don't think his striking down Ralsei and Susie would be out of character if it's something that needed to happen under his circumstances. I also think the Knight was probably capable of knocking them down, and if their goal was to take Toriel, they could have just done so from the beginning... Really, the whole fight is strange if you think too hard about it.

I actually believe this, and every dark world so far has been created by a different person. Chapter 4 was created by Alvin, and that's why Gerson was able to be revived in that dark world but not Susie's dark world. Susie didn't have the same personal connection to Gerson while he was alive, so she wasn't able to "bring him back to life" using her memories of him.

In Undertale, Frisk was a human in an Underground that feared and hated humanity, so Sans acting like a jokey prick made sense because he was actually a lot friendlier than most monsters. But in Deltarune, Kris is a human living in a monster town (mostly) peacefully while Sans is the newcomer, so him acting like a jokey prick is a lot less funny and a lot more irritating because he's being an asshat for no justifiable reason.

The Shuttah near the Nowhere warp says that the purple cliffs is basically what Dark Worlds look like before a Dark Fountain is made. The Fountain shapes the surrounding area and the Light World objects into form, but there's still a physical space there that one can presumably travel. And both chapter 3 and 4 show that Ralsei can hover, meaning it would be relatively easy for him to literally fly over to where a dark fountain appears. There's probably some other stuff involved, like he can use us as a beacon or something.
