>>714172370 (OP)Sounds like you just like watching cutscenes
>>714172370 (OP)This game is the first game I genuinely enjoy and get addicted to in 3 years. Already played 60 hours since released and I'm enjoying th shit out of this kino masterpiece.
>>714172554the gameplay is the kino part though
>>714172370 (OP)..desert camo pants
DS2 has camo index?
My favorite "that was dumb" was the DHV reveal, and the AI dude said "You can't possibly be serious" like it was literally me talking to the screen
Anyone have an issue like mine where you suddenly can't see the names of those who made constructs? Suddenly stopped appearing.
>>714172774fuck that's actually incredible
>>714172821>DS2 has camo index?A character tells you that the camo you pick can be used to blend into the enviroment, but I don't know if it actually has any gameplay effect or if it was just flavor dialogue
did anyone refuse fragile's job twice? absolute cinema
I was worried this game was less soulful than the original but the dollman private room performance has got me back on the monorail
>>714173319I hope you set your birthday to a realistic/soon number, cause the game has alot of hidden shit like a special happy birthday scene.
>>714173278I literally let out a loud cackle at that part, I had kind of forgotten how funny Kojima games can be at times.
>>714172370 (OP)To be honest, the little I played the first, it's a great game with extremely stupid dialogs and overall story.
You literally take the journey of your fucking life with the greatest music kojimbo could find, just to arrive at a place and be greeted by the biggest tardo you can find and disjointed dialogs that look like they were recorded in different places for different ocassions but ended up played back to back.
>>714172370 (OP)Been playing the first since it as on sale and honestly, it's actually enjoyable and I don't know how. It's the fetch quest game of all time, now with a sequel.
I am glad that in DS2 that you find out that Lou really is Sam's kid, even if his wife cheated on him. It would have greatly damaged the relationship Sam had with the kid otherwise.
>>714172774That's not her or she's a master at makeup, but the only thing that's the same between her and kojimbo is the face shape, but the lips are completely different and her hair is impossible to be hidden under such small wig.
That's probably her boyfriend that's holding the gear in the first clip.
>>714173508I always use my real birthday in his games, I usually don't play on the day but if I do it feels more special
>>714172370 (OP)I just like enviroments with a sense of scale.
>>714174330I like that you can actually traverse over most of it too. I've found postboxes and charging stations in some really remote spots.
>>714174330Why does it feel so small when playing then?
>>714172370 (OP)Literally me. Ive been thinking about dropping the game after the first 10 hours or so, and then I end up having fun. I just finished episode 6, I expected more soap opera with Tomorrow but im glad it ended up becoming anime by the end
>>714174053or maybe it's actually the real creatividad???
>>714174240I said it before, he shouldve pulled a MGS2 and let us play as Higgs by the end of this game
>>714172370 (OP)It's worse than DS1, which I loved. So it's not a bad game, just worse in about every aspect except being able to take your pack off.
>maps are worse. Too easy to navigate around danger. >weather is mostly useless>container repair spray is still a useless mechanic >hiking wasn't made any more involved. In fact it's easier than DS1>no toddler Lou strapped to you
>>714174730I was expecting to play Tomorrow for a bit atleast
>>714172370 (OP)That Niel nigga deserved better desu.
Has anyone messed around with photo mode?
Is it ever explained exactly why the BTs attack people? Is it just like a (super)natural instinct thing? Like organic beings feeding themselves.
Is it me or are packages more susceptible to damage in vehicles than in the first game? I swear the only damage I get outside of combat happens in vehicles now
Im playing this game on a 32" Samsung screen I have since 2012
That was my experience playing the first one. Core gameplay was kino, carting packages across the mountains was gratifying in a way no other game has managed to capture for me. But the story and acting was just dreadful and it ripped me out of it whenever I reached a shelter. Also, the forced combat sections were absolute cancer. Kojimbo is a total wildcard, he either delivers gold, or dogshit - no in between. Every one of his games Iโd recommend, just with a huge caveat that parts of it are garbage.
>>714175337Im not using online features, no idea
>>714175493Actually what I will say for the story is the world building was great. Lots of the details were laughably stupid, but the overall setting worked perfectly for a mysterious world that youโre slowly exploring, and connecting each area to the network was a cool gimmick.
>>714175493>the story and acting was just dreadful and it ripped me out of it whenever I reached a shelter.Acting is inconsistent as fuck in both ganes, but the overall story is enjoyable, like watching Eva or something like that. The text dumps with stiff holograms talking after every delivery sucks tho
>>714174330>big empty space with zero interactivity and 2005 game tier physics woah...
>>714175376uh can you drop your whole backpack in the first game?
>>714175757Acting and direction*
>1st game
>poignant serious story with a few jokes
>2nd game
>le wacky alan wake 2 dance numbers and gay tentacle kissing
why did he do it?
>>714174839>no toddler Lou strapped to youThis was my biggest letdown. I was looking forward to raising her.
DS1 was a story about fatherhood while DS2 is a story about a crew of weirdos.
>>714175934both stories are serious and played 100% straight
DS2 is just more insane
I think that vehicles ruin the game. The map should have been a tad smaller but only allow on foot. The climbing shit is the fun part, trivializing it all with a speedy vehicle ruins the fun. But not using a vehicle makes everything take so fucking long due to the size of the map.
I do love building roads for some reason though, I get so excited when I find an XL ceramic lying around
>>714175934he wanted to subvert your expectations. you wanted a fun game? fuck you nigger! you'll get shit instead and you will fucking rike it!
>>714176272>I get so excited when I find an XL ceramic lying aroundYou WILL spot that XL ceramics in a MULE base and clear out the entire place just for it.
>>714176272Same issue as the first game unfortunately. Deliveries aren't really restrictive enough and you often have to curb the temptation of brute forcing everything with a truck in order to make use of other delivery tools
>>714175934Death Stranding 2 is arguably more poignant than the original. The first game had a generic message about hope and perseverance and self sacrifice for the greater good. Death Stranding 2 is about moving on in the face of grief and the struggle to commit to a purpose after losing someone you had staked your whole life on.
If there weren't all that levity and avant-garde shit happening in DS2, it would be a constant downer and much harder to enjoy. The absurdity softens the blow of the themes in a game that actually kills a baby, and shows it happening, to cap off the first act.
>>714177010The truck with the grapple cannons is busted as fuck. You can snipe so much lost loot on a simple drive, you don't even need to be close like the bike at all.
I actually think that so many of the star unlocks are busted. Like the stun bola is insane.
I think someone playing on easy mode that only does just the story events and doesn't level any bases will have a much harder time then the brutal player that does everything solely because the brutal player will have all the OP shit.
>>714175934DS1 being so dry and boring was the worst part of the story, Kojima isn't a good enough storyteller to pull it off, making DS2 more whimsy and fun was the right move.
>>714174240>flowing locks>beautiful eyelashes>no eyebrows what do you call this aesthetic
>SHOULD WE HAVE CONNECTED
so what's this about?? Can someone who played tell if it's significant

maybe this is the appeal but Reedus just being some dude really draws me out when everyone else is hollywood sexy. like hes fighting hair metal guy and Snake and he still looks like the kind of shitkicker with a heart of gold that aught to be the main character of a silent hill game, not scifi action.
>>714177902This scene is fucked. You can get the entire cast wishing you a happy birthday even if you haven't met some of them yet.
I really do not understand the complaints about the tone. THIS is what people wanted more of. Batshit insane entertaining Kojima.
To turn around and say WELL AKHTUALLY WE WANTED THE STORY TO BE EVEN MORE SERIOUS is just so bizarre after all the shit that DS1 got.
My wife and her boyfriend had a child together and now I can raise their kid? Don't mind if I yabba-dabba-do
>>714178107He fits the blue collar worker archetype. Try to imagine someone else as Sam, impossible.

>>714172370 (OP)He told y'all years in advance.
>>714175857Yeah possibly, I just found a lot of the concepts to be slightly eye-roll worthy, and the peculiar delivery just made it much worse. Fragile and Mama in particular really ruined it for me whenever they were on screen. But Refn and Del Toro weren't much better, the whole thing just feels off in a really grating way - not in a mesmerising way like Twin Peaks or something like that.

who the fuck gave kojima the aux
How much did the gameplay evolve since the 1st game? This seems like the perfect game to me for cargo raiding and base raiding, but the game doesn't seem to focus on raiding at all.
>>714180317If you mean going in and taking what the MULEs have, you can go and do that, and you can get better weapons/fighting moves to help you.
>>714180317Core gameplay hasn't drastically evolved, it's mostly just a refinement of the first game with some added bells and whistles. Biggest change is probably with stealth and combat, and there's more emphasis on directly confronting enemies this time round which you may like
>>714180317There's a million things they added including a literal pokemon system for catching and summoning boss BTs
By the end of the game you can use chiral crystals to have BTs eat all the brigands but you can also take everyone down with stealth or a pizza dough themed fighting style
>>714180317The gameplay has evolved very subtly and without a solid grasp of Moby Dick most of its nuance will go over a typical player's head.
>>714180937Shit, Nintendo is going to sue.

I feel like Brutal might be a tiny bit more difficult than Very Hard in DS2, like packages being more susceptible to damage.

>you can actually catch diehardman while taking a photo before he's even revealed
La creatividad
You aren't actually building roads or monorails in these games, you're just delivering materials for them to be build in a predetermined manner. And most of the deliveries you do can only be done in one specific order otherwise the story doesn't work. You don't even need to prepare or ration out your resources because the deliveries are so short and easy anyway. And the game will literally throw resources at you to make sure you can't get stuck or fail. I don't get how anyone can find the gameplay engaging, it's the most streamlined experience imaginable.
I really like Sam and the way he is written. I love Fragile too, she's so amazing in 2.

Like was he not available that day and they had to use that bit from another sound bite or something? It's so weird sounding. They should've had him either redo it or say absolutely nothing. It's so jarring.
And I personally feel like it should've ended on a hug to mirror the reveal of the first game with Sam hugging the baby. He does hug her while she's unconscious on the beach though, so technically it's still there.
>>714184365daily reminder that lea is the typical modern feminist. she let a man knock her up and then divorced him a bit later and now lives alone in paris or wherever with her kid. this is the real reason for all the divorces now. women let some random dick knock them up and then divorce them when the relationship becomes boring and they've wrung everything they can out of it and then skedaddle with their brood. this is what always ends up happening when societies allow women to divorce their husbands for no reason. so-called no fault divorces literally destroy countries.
>>714185408>most of the deliveries you do can only be done in one specific order otherwise the story doesn't workStory deliveries yes, that's why they're story deliveries. I don't think he deserved it in DS1 because the majority of the game is fucking Amelie pulling the strings and Higgs just became her fall guy. DS2 Higgs is a bit of a lost cause though.
>>714198762He didn't? Lucy was already sleeping with Sam before she broke up with Neil and she just lied about the baby not being his

Okay is the Red Samurai actually Higgs or Deadman? I thought it was Deadman most of the time except for the two times it's explicitly Higgs, yet he mentions puppeteering it the whole time which seems weird considering he literally fights himself with it? What would be the purpose of him saving Sam from... himself?
>>714199471Corpus confirms it was Deadman initially.
>>714199471Higgs spends almost the entire game in one body until Fragile destroys it. Deadman alternates between the Red Samurai and Heartman, meaning Higgs could hijack the Red Samurai when Deadman's Ha was inside Heartman since they both use the exact same method of bodyjacking
>>714195468I dunno if I'm reading it wrong, but Higgs kinda just seems like he's having fun the entire time.

Kinda in line with the whole "a loyal man gets used and turns into a villain" type of arc he did with BBoss.
>>714205291Did you played DS 1?
Does the baby pod in DS2 still start crying when BB gets stressed?
I fucking hope not, since the pod is actually empty, making it an unnecessary mechanic
>>714206029Yeah it still does. Also affects your Odradek for some reason.
>>714172370 (OP)I genuinely have no idea of what kind of mental illness cocktail is required to endure, let alone enjoy, Death Stranding.
>>714205661A Higgs prequel could genuinely be very interesting. He's like the second protag already. You can have the porter gameplay, more crude technology, show some cities before they got nuked. Worse nightmares with increasing dooms, BT controlling abilities.
>>714206392i payed 80 bucks for this and the cinematography of the cut-scenes are kino
>>714206392Its called looking for something unique

STRAND GAME (TM) in Stalker universe where you play as a scientist would be genuinely kino. You walk in the wild or among ruins, trying to not break your legs or get torn to shreds by anomalies. Collect samples, use weird devices to take measurements etc. Shoot some snork ocasionally but enemies would be massively less concentrated than in normal stalker games.
>>714208285Just play anomaly with every difficulty slider cranked up. You can start as a scientist too iirc.
>>714208515I did, but the old maps are too fucking small, large enviroments are a crucial ingredient of the STRAND GENRE (TM). Walking is also very very barebones and the zone is too busy overall

>>714209012>hope a kojima's game rapes a kojima's gamelol
>>714174839There are so many QOL improvements I think it will be hard to go back to the original but I agree the map (or rather its use) is a step down. Granted I'm only on chapter 5 or 6 but nothing has required much creativity. There has only been one time I've gotten stuck where the terrain surprised me and even then I just yeeted a truck off a drop to cheese it with no cargo damage. I will say one big improvement gameplay wise is that the infrastructure feels more rewarding to build. Not that it really matter though as you don't even need it as the game is piss easy
>>714209442I honestly don't think there was much creativity to avoiding mules or BTs. It just kinda forced you to keep taking the same path to avoid them. I don't think I'll mind 2 being more "loose" in that regard.
>>714204512This is the way to do it. Floating carriers are peak comfy and you can add cargo to them without menu autism. Plus you get the reward of skateboarding down a hill when you're done with them

>>714209217not anymore lmao
>>714172370 (OP)How do you complete those emergency aid things that other players put up?
Do you need to go back to Mexico at any point in the main story after the first couple of chapters? I just did all the main missions in that region and have been only been doing shit in Australia.
>>714175376I love dropping all my mats and delivery stuff outside of bandit nigger camps and wiping them out and just going back and collecting it back. DS2 honestly has an impressive amount of QOL improvements and not a single one of them actually harms the core struggle of the game, in fact most enhance them by opening up your options in gameplay.
>>714211713You offload the cargo into the circle and then hit send.

What's the point of Monorails when you can just load the Magellan up with resources and teleport? I guess you can use them for deliveries but still. I feel like letting the Magellan carry cargo was a mistake.
>>714172774>This game is the first game I genuinely enjoy and get addicted to in 3 years. It is honestly nuts how addictive the gameplay is.

All of that sounds interesting but it doesn't mean as goddamned thing until it comes to PC/Steam (anywhere else is fine but no Epic exclusivity etc). Fuck Sony for this garbage behavior exclusivity. Bring to to PC in the next 1-3 months and I'll pick it up at launch as I enjoy DS1's Director's Cut, but if they take 6+ months there's no way I'm not waiting until its a big fuck you discount. We're not launch players, why should we pay the launch price or something near it 6-12 months down the line?

I loved DS2, but the first one just hit different. DS1's world felt real and this one feels like a theme park after you connect all the areas. This is the downside of having so much variety, the world feels artificial.
>>714172370 (OP)Kojima is a hack and this game is just a glorified update for DS1, it does everything exactly the same, people praising this game are dishonest at best, really stupid and low iq at worst, i played the game and even all the plot devices, the whole SCENARIO IS THE SAME, it's not only the same but it betrays DS1 by going full blown MGS1 , MGS4 in the last fight, it's very pathetic to look at a retelling of snake vs ocelot liquid with guitars, really pathetic and the signs of someone that smell their own farts and has become senile and drunk with his own pl ss.
>>714214242>Videogames exist for entertainment and escapism. You're the one entertaining the game. You go along with its nonsense story and trivial game mechanics for hours expecting a payoff. It's not that the game is boring, it's that it doesn't respect the player's time.
>>714218329not only it's fucking cringe and pathetic to look at it but it also show how much Kojima is creatively bankrupt to take two retarded and disgusting bloated looking creatures mystery meat actors to put them in the exact same slot as snake and liquid.

Maybe I'm not far enough yet but BT encounters feel like such a joke in this one.
There have been multiple times now where I enter a BT area as part of a main mission only to walk/drive straight through and not even see 1 enemy.
Also you get blood grenades right away in this one as opposed to having to make do with shit & piss grenades and splashing them with Norman Reedus gamer girl bath water.
i like that its not imitating dark souls
>>714218278Are you guys just making up reasons to shit on the game now? Too much variety? Seriously? After shitting on DS1 for not having enough.
>>714218823Bro, it's literally DS2.
>>714218905Both games are equally dogshit yes
>>714188707>those lipsholy fuck
>>714218332You have no clue what you are saying. There is never a payoff playing any videogame because they are exactly for what I said they are for. Its there for dopamine injections. The dopamine injections you get from this game comes in the form of Likes. And you only get likes when you complete orders or provide something useful to other players: like a safe house placed conveniently by a chiralium farm. And this can even lead to even more likes and free repairs if someone finds your structures to be beneficial to them. You'll see their name pop up multiple times an hour, almost guaranteeing that you earned a strand contract.
Often enough, people with your sentiment don't do anything of the sort and get left behind. Death Stranding IS an allegory for human evolution afterall. If you don't respect the game by adapting to it, the game won't respect you and leave you with nothing.
t. getting 52k likes a day
>>714218278True, the first game felt like it could be in real world Iceland most of the time. The new biomes are nice but definitely make the map feel more videogamey
when it gets ported to PC there will be dozens of threads praising the game to high heaven, its really good
Wait a year and watch how the discourse around this game on /v/ changes once it gets ported to PC.
Did they add anything new to the delivery stuff, like vehicles, weapons, ways to travel (ziplines)?
>>714218819I beat the game without ever dying in the normal difficulty. The game is piss easy, so much so that all the combat sections feel pointless. All the combat gadgets are useless, if you're mildly competent at video games you can just sprint into an enemy camp with a pistol or a rifle and mow down the entire camp by just aiming and shooting. I never had to fabricate or pick up bloodbags.
By the end with ghost mechs you do consume bloodbags but only a few and you don't have to change your approach to combat it's the same shit, just run and gun. There's no point to stealth at all.
The only somewhat interesting combat section is samurai Higgs, but even then it feels like watered down Dark Souls with gigantic dodge windows.
>>714218819I dunno, the watchers alone seem to make BT encounters themselves less trivial than in the first game. The biggest issue I found is how easy it is to outright avoid BT zones altogether, basically means I barely need to engage with them outside of retrieval orders
>>714219785i like that its easy, stop making everything into dark souls
>>714219785They made the enemy AI way too passive in normal mode. I watched some gameplay, and they can't hit shit and just stand around to die.
Brutal is still not all too difficult, but it at least makes you use your tools because they fight back.
>>714219416>The dopamine injections you get from this game comes in the form of LikesLikes and the bombardment of noises you get from simply moving around and interacting with shit. It's like they engineered every sound in this game to be digital crack. Today I was going on a mad loop in Mexico to get 5 stars on every location and the hours flew by.
>>714219897are we going to pretend that the BT encounters were harder in the first game? You just hold the stick up in both of them
>>714219897>>714220120BTs are the worst thing about these games. They're just fucking annoying because the game keeps taking control away from you, and when fighting them you're in a tar zone with 90% less move speed. It's not scary, just plain annoying. I dread every BT encounter.
Should I speedrun Death Stranding 1 so I can play 2 asap or go slow?
>>714184365She's a noble blood so i don't think about the monetary issue, maybe she like working with kojimbo because of the story and nature of the game is like auteur french cinema
>>714214139Based and same. Just doing standard orders in various different ways. Sometimes I got in a bike or truck, sometimes I felt like walking. Sometimes I attacked random camps for the shits and giggles. Finished some roads up and just relaxed. Played for 7 hours straight not touching the main story.
>>714220120No, my point is that they were easier in 1, but 2 seems to make even less effort to railroad you into BT areas so you can just skip them
Okay did anyone actually use the tar cannon to save the kangaroo? I feel like there's no world where it isn't just easier to run around the fires
>>714220791Speedrun for the story. If you enjoy making deliveries for the sake of it you can do it in 2.
>>714221184Someone's mounted tar cannon showed up in my world, so I used that.
>>714221184no lmao I just jumped the fire with a bike. I got a B though
I really recommend playing this on Brutal, I'm a 30 y/o boomer who basically only play on normal these days but I suspected that DS2 would be easy like the first game so I went for hard straight away. I'm glad I did because Brutal feels more like normal difficulty and I've only failed a handful of times and it was mostly due to dumb negligence on my part. It's definitely not a difficult game
>>714222198Yeah brutal doesn't even really feel that much harder. It's still fairly easy and I haven't struggled much with anything so far. Though I've gotten a shit score on every boss fight.
>>714219416That's what I am saying. The game wasting your time with trivial tasks is justified to you with the expectation of getting likes.
>>714222354You just gotta get the L2+X dodge down. Also be sure to level up the Pizza Chef connection since he gives you some real useful stuff for fighting.

>>714224086I tried that too. But you shoot it with anything that can harm a BT for chiral crystals. It also splits off into mini goops which also give chiral crystals on death. If there are a lot in an area spread out, use a silenced pistol. If they are clumped close together, double tap a grenade. I have not tried blood grenades but I think they might work better.
>>714222553And you missed his point entirely and are still trying to further your simpleton argument. You can't objectively argue that one game is a waste of time and some other game is not, because objectively, they're both a "waste of time". Think about what you're physically doing when playing any game. Any activity that doesn't further your material security is a "waste of time" in our shared human understanding of the concept. That's why it's play and not work.
Admit it, they make a cute couple
>>714224208I actually had to laugh when the Magellan drops you off during the finale and he still considers it necessary to explain what's happening right now. What a wasted character.
>>714224105I'd like him a lot more if he did more than point out things that happen right in front of me. I walk into a BT spawn, "Sam, there's BTs right in front of you", I pick up the packages I need for a delivery, "it looks like you have all the packages you need!", a door opens right in front of my eyes, "Sam, it looks like that door just opened". >>714229069>>714229518To expand a bit, because you're not as schizo as I am, Amelie carries the ultimate responsibility as the Extinction Entity. She needs to make a decision, to take action to either stop the death of all life or let it happen. Her two "sons", Higgs and Sam, represent this duality.
Mars, aside from being the God of War, embodies the act of deciding, and to struggle through your decisions. Amelie wears red because she's embodying the need of Mars.
Amelie/Bridget is Venus wearing Mars' skin. She's a single mother, and Madds is a physical (in Death Stranding terms that is) manifestation of Mars, the divine masculine, just trying to get his son back from the clutches of a divine feminine who's trying to be Mars for what she believes is "the greater good".

>>714231458Itโs worse than the first game. I havenโt had to worry about stamina or walking since the prologue. I just zoomed passed a bunch of storyline bts in my first Australia connection,
>>714231560You've never even smelled the outdoors.
>>714231429Just use the limited online option.
>>714231560It's definitely different in a way I can understand disliking. I was apprehensive before it came out about the greater focus on shootan and action but I dunno, now that I'm playing it I can't get enough of it.
DS2 is better than DS1 because its more fun. I'm glad Kojima injected some more Metal Gear wackiness but still kept the general DS1 blueprint. Having more moments where the game goes absolutely nuts actually contrasts nicely with the calmer moments and makes the game less monotone, also means more fun weird mechanics and gameplay
>>714231026>Is there any point in storing stuff in shelters over DHV?It only really makes sense to use the storage of shelters and knot cities to temporarily store lost cargo or cargo for standard deliveries. I store all of my weapons, items and building materials on the DHV Magellan.
>>714230319>its ok to be a pajeet when Kojima does it
Call me a shallow faggot, I donโt care. I wish there was more combat.
>>714212624You get substantially less likes for this approach and the roads would also be built rather late, but you can do it like this if you want, because the roads will eventually be built.
When do roads unlock? I want to start buildan
>>714213021I really want Lou's Theme, because that is the best track in DS1. Hopefully it is offered to the player as the story unfolds out (I'm only in chapter 7 so far).
>>714232736You're not a shallow faggot. In fact, you are the true philosopher of our time.
>>714232826I just go to the data scientist myself, lol
Weird that it is some Japanese V-tuber, but oh well. A little charming quirkiness never hurt anyone. :)))
How do I get a lot of (yous)

wow, truly the GOAT band. Thank you Kojima for your truly groundbreaking """game"""
>>714232938>unfolds out*unfolds
>>714233095Put the signs where they can't avoid them
>>714172370 (OP)This game proves Kojima can attach his wacky Kojima-isms to a ham sandwich, the game itself doesn't matter.
>>714232682I like that some bases can be permanently liberated from brigands. I wish all of them could *eventually* be permanently liberated, but I am not sure if that is the case.
>>714233110Look just buy a ps5 man they arenโt expensive
>>714233095Build bridges, time fall shelters, generators and other structures where it makes sense and could be helpful to the player. For example, bridges that ease access to shelters is always a good idea. Time fall shelters in or near BT areas or near shelters as well.
That said, one of my bridges already has over 30K likes. :)
can someone explain why higgs has such a murderboner for sam??? am i crazy or do they never explain why hes such an asshole
>>714174839Altough I really still enjoyed the game I mostly agree. Also
>Chiral creatures do nothing except look interesting the first few times>Floods literally do not impact the game besides maybe the first 2 times you see it in Mexico>Barely take damage when falling
I was transporting the emu to Animal Shelter and I got attacked by some sort of giant spider BT. It ended up killing the emu and when I restarted the spider BT didn't show up
What the fuck was that?
>>714233576I do those things but every useful spot already has buildings
>>714212624Damn I wish I could bridge link with you in the game because in my experience people are stingy as FUCK with chiral crystals
>>714233857who that in the pic
>>714233095build catapults or zip lines in good places on the mountain
>>714233952Samantha Porter Bridges desu
>>714233797Then build more. A generator next to the DHV Magellan or next to a road near a knot always makes sense.
You could also just delete a player bridge from your would and replace it with your own. Not to mention that you do also get likes for upgrading the structures of other players.
Should I bother finishing the first game? I haven't touched it in over a year.
>>714234323The story or the deliveries?
A lot of people seem to suddenly be glazing the first game's story like it wasnt unbearably written and bone shakingly cringe. No matter what the narrative is, I'll take "kept you waiting huh" guitar shredding boss battles over "princess beach" literally every single time.
The entire Evangelion/Pacific Rim sequence on the beach from start to finish is undeniably kino
Dollman told me to finish up any business before doing more main orders after we took Rainy to the Motherhood. Should I actually go back and finish my roads and deliveries? Is it a semi point of no return?
>>714233747Time passes faster on the beach so after getting completely rekt by Sam in the first game, he spent 10,000 years alone seething over it.
>>714234424Story. I liked it but always try to do everything in games and got burnt out, moved on to other stuff and never went back.
>>714234513It's not THE point of no return. I think it's just a little bit before you can come back to do stuff.
>>714234323Of course. Just do the main missions and ignore everything else, if you want to get through quickly.
>>714231026Packages stored on the DHV Magellan get less likes and lower rank, so really just store everything but packages on it.
Game is cool but I really wish Kojima went full dragons dogma 1 with the nighttime
>>714224295His voice actor is the guy that played Jesus in the chose so I assume some kind of middle eastern
>>714234434Yeah, the writing needed some better editing, but who cares? The lore, setting and characters are just really good. You just hate it, because you were filtered by the gameplay.
>>714214021>you can just load the Magellan up with resources and teleportyou get way less likes and you are awarded the "Magellan" delivery rank (basically a "You Cheated" rank that only gives you completion. if you care at all about getting LLL rank the monorails are huge)
>>714227102Absolutely incorrect. Have you finished the game yet?
>>714234779The gameplay was my favourite part of the first game, as well as the world building. It was the moment to moment dialogue that completely put me off. Second game is weaker in the world building but the dialogue is much tighter while still having that "no editor" Kojima feel to it
>>714234576It's definitely worth finishing it for the story, the gameplay has been upgraded nicely in the sequel but just play it for the story and fuck around with deliveries as much as you want before you get bored
Can someone that played it elaborate about the online integration: Is the system better than the first one, in terms of structure distribution, the like system etc?
is there anything cool worth unlocking in the mountains, making deleveries there is hell
>>714235478It feels comparable to the last one.
There's an option to lower the amount of sharing if you want the game to be harder, though, and there are some perks that allow for more stuff to be shared, more strand contracts, longer like windows, that sort of thing.
>>714235478It's fundamentally the exact same system but with some upgrades to increase the amount of shared structures and the ability to connect with players who are more likely to like your stuff
Sam looked cool with gray hair, can you get it back or are you forced to dye it?
>>714235998Forced to dye, I'm afraid.
>>714235630>>714235793I see, thank you. What about the boss fights? It was the weaker aspect of the first game and the DS2 trailers made it look like nothing changed that much, am I wrong?
>>714236103The boss fights are vastly improved.
World ends because of humans were using braindead mothers and their fetuses which ccaused a soul fail to move on into the world of the dead creating the first BT
Beach is your own personal limbo, if you fail to move on you become a BT
People live underneath the earth because touching a BT causes a nucular reaction
Rain bad
And people that can access their beach and leave into the world of the living gain supah powers because supah powers are cool or something.
Troy is literally Kafka
BBs can sense BTs because they live between the world of the death and the living
Did i missed anything? seems pretty self explanatory to me
>>714236228You're kinda misunderstanding some of the fundamental stuff.
The Death Stranding happened and then humanity started using brain-dead mothers because of the connection to the Beach.
Everyone has their own Beach, but they're all also interconnected.
Everyone also becomes a BT through the process of necrosis unless the body is incinerated or otherwise rendered inert.
Having superpowers isn't really about being able to go to the Beach. DOOMS sufferers have their abilities just because of the influence of the Death Stranding and Beaches in general. Some of them CAN go to Beaches, though, as an effect of their abilities.
>>714236510and what triggered the death stranding? and don't say kojima
>>714236621It's a supernatural, naturally occurring phenomenon intended to target stagnating species to instigate evolution.
It's happened to prior species as well.
>>714227102>It's not empty. It has Lou's BT in it.The pod is actually empty.
This is also barely a spoiler, because this is confirmed at the beginning of the game. Sam just sees Lou in the pod, because he is schizo like Cloud.
>>714236690I realize putting 'supernatural' and 'naturally' next to each other looks goofy, so I guess it's better to say it's metaphysical rather than supernatural.
>>714236621The Death Stranding happens because Bridget was conflicted about doing her natural duty as the Extinction Entity. It could have happened in an instant, with little to no harm to everything else on Earth. But her decision to stick it out and try to go on with her life as a human is what triggers the Death Stranding.
>>714172370 (OP)Thank you for beta testing.
>>714236510>Everyone has their own Beach, but they're all also interconnected.higgs is the one that connected them to cause the 6th death stranding i still need to finish DS2 but someone mentioned that the beaches are already merging
>zero anti-grav on truck
OH GOD I AM SUCH A SLOW FAT FUCKING FAGGOT HURRFDURRF
>two anti-grav on truck
>*boings*
>>714236885The game runs rock solid though. I've had exactly zero issues in 45 hours of gameplay.
I like when the game camera pans out just a little. I wish there was a way to always have it at that medium distance view. It's too close to Sam.
>>714174839>no toddler Lou strapped to youYeah seriously. Why bother showcasing her so much on the cover when it's stripped away and back to business as usual within the hour. Keeping Lou could have introduced some cool game mechanics.
>>714234716It would be cool if Kojima made a high fantasy game. That game would be completely fucking bonkers. lol
>>714237320Lou motivates Sam. He would have never went to Australia if things didn't happen as they did. He was reluctant to even do any work In Mexico.

>>714237729>Sam gets discovered and raided>Barely makes it out with Lou>Transmission from Fragile>Come to blah blah blah and hook up network along the way, you and Lou will be safeThere. Same weak premise of an opening plot but with Lou in tow. Fugitive dad and daughter on the journey while making friends along the way is better than what Kojima provided.

>>714235587Always bring a few level 2 pccs(ziplines) with you before delivering in the mountains
3 better have some intricate rock climbing mechanics
Kojima made a big mistake when he removed Sam pooping from the game. What was he thinking?? You used to be able to poo and pee separately. Why remove features?
>>714238445It's best to get as far into the story as possible so you sync up with everyone else and have all the roads built to save you the trouble
>>714240508I ran out of bandwidth almost :( I have a pretty decent network from the Government to East Fort Knot minus a few places but I don't think I have enough for the mountains.

>>714238446I donโt think having a toddler strapped to Samโs chest for the duration of the game would go well or even make sense. Sam gets shot and faceplants regularly. How would Lou survive these things? Unless they made an armored baby carrier or even a bigger pod for her to go in. Sheโs just too big for it
>>714236871What do you mean 'little to no harm', it's quite literally in the name Extinction Entity.
There were 5 prior extinctions but they were nowhere near as bad as this one because the dominant species were not so advanced as Humans. Presumably it's just tiny voidouts that erupt around the EE instead of literally everyone having the potential to nuke cities into oblivion, invade our world as BTs and timefalling shit into oblivion. Even then, Cryptobioites are suggested to be able to thrive even when humanity is wiped out.
Because Amelie is smart enough as a human to try and R&D a way to survive the Death Stranding, she started all the BB experiments and creating the Chiral Network. She literally can't die/move on until all of humanity is dead so it doubles as a suicide trigger in DS1 until she decided to lock it and herself away due to Sam.
