>Do you mean just walk up to like residential style apartments or hotels also? or both?
Yeah, it's obvious which places rent out, usually has a sign, seriously for long term, don't pay online without seeing it first, it's just asking for trouble and a shitty experience, you might get lucky but why risk it.
The people in here telling you airbnb is fine in SEA have no idea. You really think Asian landlords already on super thin margins are eating the 30% cost to a San Fran company themselves? It's all passed on to you.
>health insurance
I use genki man, seems ok, from what I understand it's either that or safetywing for nomads as a reliable thing. Note that annual travel insurance can have good prices but nearly always wants you to return home after a month, T&C are a bitch on those things. Most people just want health anyway.
I see horror stories online but it's always hard to determine how real they are and it's not just someone getting sick and then buying insurance after the fact.
Don't skimp on it. At this point I've contributed to way too many hospital fundraisings for idiots in south east asia.
Bloke I half knew in Da Nang ended up in a medically induced coma after a bike accident, no insurance, family couldn't afford the medical evacuation, was insanely fucked up. He was trapped as a vegetable in a shitty Vietnamese public hospital. Don't be that guy.

"using the word wrong" lmao sure mate
>are you actually that much of a shut in that your interaction with others is at a desk?
No I work at a desk, I meet people who are like me there and go do shit with them.
There's absolutely no where more reliable in SEA to find other DN's than a coworking.
