>>714974193yeah i agree. i loved the cave system.
i find TotK way better than BotW, with the labyrinths the only good think in BotW, and they were mid.
even though TotK was still kinda mid, it kept the feeling going longer with caves being fun and sprinkled around, and actually stumbling on the dungeons, even if they arent real zelda dungeons. then sky islands existing, and the underworld feeling like it 'might' have some grand secret... that it never did.
there were too many sign guys, and the armor upgrade system was made worse. it basically set it up so you go from 0 to max way too quickly. where as in BotW the lack of gatekeeping let u upgrade when u found them, giving a "slight" feeling of progress.
imo, they should have found a better system that allowed for upgrades in a better fashion. (I think towns should have been the place to go for upgrades, and each town specializes in types of armor theyre able to upgrade.
in places you find armor, like caves, you should have been given the upgrade items.
the upgrades shouldnt be in tiers really. more like all can be upgraded with a collection of common items once, a rare item once, and a specific hidden item in a cave somewhere once. you could in theory do this out of order, so the progression matches your pace in the story progression.
