They also changed the text font too for whatever reason. The Steam version uses Lolita instead of the default. You can delete it from the game's folder if you don't like it.

First, I actually kind of agree the game should be playable on it's base state. Knowingly selling a product that does not work as-is will probably cause more issues than it solves.

He made an actual good Genocide route, but then the attention his game got was SOLELY focused on people memeing about it ONLY. There weren't any real promonsterfags in the fandom and with it gaining more popularity he took it in his own hands to say 'no wait this is the wrong route please stop' with a halfassed cheating measure because he couldnt write in more pro monster lines in time.
If he just kept his head down and worked on pro monster route without resorting to cheating against players no one would bat an eye at the antimonster route and in fact could be seen as 'oh this is just his edgy route'.

The TLDR is he panicked that his game would only be known as 'le kill all monsters' game. And that panicked solution only further drew attention to 'murderfags were right' and solidified the idea of "anything, even good, he does now is just in response to the hole he dug".
