I haven't paid for a game since Fallout 4. As I write this, I'm playing XEMU emulated Nightfire multiplayer with my friend in the Netherlands. To emulate XBOX One/PS4/le modern, all we need to do is write a wrapper around their console OS implementation, the games are compiled to x86-64/AMD64 binaries. The biggest problem is breaking the console's encryption, which is a hefty task. I believe we'll get it done, eventually.

There are plenty of indie games now taking after the formula of the classics, let's say megaman, and the all derivative, I understand there is a reason for that but I dislike how I pivot into emulation than newer games since the industry is kinda gay right now

I also have yet to beat the last arcade mode route.

after I'm done with Gundam Vs ZG I'll do another Armored Core 2 playthrough, or maybe try 100%ing Warship Gunner 1 from scratch, I don't remember if I even ever beat it. Doesnt matter how big it is if to make use it in the first place you have to put an online ID attached to you.

Right now its nearly impossible to associate a random download from your ip to you without reasonable doubt, if we implement online ids that stops being an issue, its in your legal name, you are guilty.

Every site would have to verify IDs. Every country would have to agree to this. Every service would have to use it.
Considering piracy isn't even a criminal offense in a lot of countries, that's never going to happen (not counting all the non-WWW parts of the internet where the real piracy actually happens).

Anonymous No.718642148
>>718641884
Not only that, but it's even more funny, since the introduction of online verification would create a market for spoofing online verification. To use Twitter as an example, It is not illegal to generate a fake identity for verifying yourself online on twitter, because twitter is not the government and has no actual right to demand your personal data and the government cannot command you to submit your real data to twitter, nor can twitter petition the government for your data, which is why they have to use these third party companies that "totally do not store your data" for verification. Spoofing your ID to get verified online is the same as creating a videogame character in a videogame that doesn't have the same name and apperance as you do.

Obviously everything is different when financial transactions get involved, but that doesn't require real id because they have your banking info that is verification enough.

It was VERY uncommon you stupid faggot. So much so it created a lot of uproar and controversy around it, and it created a lot of entitled faggots and even more ferverent tsundere antis, and that's why Nintendo shutting them down was a big deal. It's not that Nintendo "allowed" it, it's that the emulators were never a serious threat because they always took a while. That's why people are hounding about S2 emulation even more, so the antis and tsunderes can laugh in Nintendo's face while pirating it. Personally I think they should die because it's cuz of those niggers the emulations got shafted to begin with because they liked to keep gloating about it, for some bizarre fucking reason. As we've seen though, there are people working on cracking the 2witch, and an actual working emu probably won't come until maybe another year because it's a much more upgraded system. Working games probably another year after.

Collecting physical video games is actually really stupid when you think about it. You can literally download any and every game you could ever want to play for free then store them on a microchip that costs less than a single game these days. You can literally shove your games up your ass and carry them with you everywhere you go then pull them out and install them on any computer device you come across. This is the kind of shit I used to dream of as a kid, I thought it would only be possible by the time I was extremely old.

This technology exists right now. We're a couple years away from pic related and you're sitting here bitching and moaning about your cumbersome plastic circles being taken away.

By the way, MGS 4 kind of stinks relative to the series? Some of the plot points like the naomi face/heel turns rub me the wrong way, and the boss fights are kinda lame. Cutscene/gameplay ratio we all know is a bit bad too. Still a solid 7.5, but easily the weakest of the mainline IMO

Piracy has no impact on sales, because they are not a prospective audience. Even for Denuvo the only purpose is to slow down online discourse by slowing down early adoption of the game, thus allowing the marketing pajeets to dominate the discussion.
>>718644551
There is a lot of marketing being done to maintain the current state of obsolete copyright, rather than abolishing it.
Part of that is they myth of owning publicly distributed data and that gets people invested in defending someone else's theft of their freedoms.

Default Steam DRM can be bypassed.
>HDD fails
Just move it to another backup first.
>>718645589
The first step is disrespecting copyright and getting yourself access to educational texts for the wage of the average jannie.

for one, "walkable cities" are a fucking meme and I absolutely detest having to walk for 50 minutes to get somewhere while if I were to drive it would take me 10 at most. public transport here is absolute dogshit to the point it may well not exist outside of a very specific timeframe that goes from 7 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon, getting groceries while on foot is VERY annoying, and most importantly having my own car would give me plenty of freedom. being able to fuck inside a car is a plus. not that it's something that would happen often.
