Playing Cyber Knights Flashpoint. Interesting game, I never really got into Nu-XCOM but this fleshes out the build autism and stealth systems. I'm impressed with how granular the stealth to full out combat transition is. The security level systems make a lot of sense and work impressively well.
The weird procedural storytelling has its charms too. 20 hours in and I'm still having fun.

I've been on a crpg kick the last few years. I don't even really know about any new ones that have been announced though. I'd like a new Pillars of Eternity (or original project) from Obsidian instead of the boring first person games they keep making. A new RPG from Owlcat would be nice. I liked Rogue Trader but I don't think its systems were good enough to last a whole extra 100+ hour game. I'll probably try the new one but I don't have super high hopes for it.

I've been getting out more this year so life's good. In October I'll have time to relax with a video game and I'm going to play Silksong, maybe another recent metroidvania or two if I don't get burned out. At the same time I'm going to play through the campaign in PoE2 which I haven't done yet, and then if I don't feel as if I've been too lazy I might do another playthrough of Lies of P for the DLC.

Relatively good, just recovering from a sudden splurge of money because we went on vacations and I ended spending more than I was expecting but goddamn if I really needed that deep tissue spa treatment, as horribly painful as it was it did wonders to me. Because I've had them before. Terrible anxiety issues, runs in my family. For me, it was terrible heart palpitations like it's gonna explode, convinced I was gonna die, sometimes my vision would blur I'd be blind, just an awful sense of dread, fight or flight in full effect, my mind would race "I'm gonna die." Tamriel Rebuilt is super good. It's very weird to be back in Morrowind but without knowing where everything is. Lots of new names to learn. I'm currently on the last leg of my pilgrimage to Narsis, just walking all the way and stopping by towns for at most 2 nights doing whatever quests I find that don't immediately wreck my level 4 character.

Apparently. Last time EA made a Sim City game, it was a disaster, Skylines exists but PDX flubbed Skylines 2 with too much fake simulation. Anno is just about the only city builder out there still getting made that's halfway decent, that said it's by far the most simplified city builder you can get, nice for beginners but not maximum autism. 2070 and 2205 have nice aesthetics though.

I replayed the entirety of TMNT Tactical Takedown because they put out harder versions of every level; great game, really needs a sequel where you control more than one character at a time. Might honestly be one of my favorite games of the year. Started Sword of the Sea last night as well; not usually my kind of thing but the whole "surfing on a sword" thing piqued my interest. Very pretty game, platforming/traversal and the score challenges are just engaging enough to keep me going. Shame the framerate will just kill itself and drop from 60 to 30-ish when it decides to render a bunch of plants.

As for life, it's not bad. I make solid money and had a moment where I had six figures to my name for a few days before I had to drop a few grand on bills. I'm going to Japan for a trip with a friend in a couple months too. If I can fix this kissless virgin thing I think I'll be alright. I'm only 29 in all honesty.

Only time I've ever seen my dad give a shit about console gaming. He worked in the PC industry from the late 70's to the 2000's. When i was really little him and my mom would play the old sierra games together (which you played off a half dozen 5.25" floppies).
He played a shitload of railroad tycoon, and is still playing hearts of iron panzers, some turn based WWII game.

I played Metroid Prime for the first time. It was good but there was too much backtracking. I quit before finishing it because I was missing 2 artifacts and didn't feel like going back to get them. It just unlocks a couple boss fights anyway which don't interest me.

There's your problem. As the years go on, you can also take advantage of opportunities to store wealth away for passive income, and that then lets you cut down on work. I feel you. I always hated coming home to an empty and dark house but the alternative was waiting for my parents to come pick me up. They worked overtime so I was always the last one to go. Some faggot in a metroidvania thread kept screeching that I didn't know what I was talking about when discussing MVs because I didn't play this specific game so I bought a copy of it. The puzzles are childish, the combat is piss easy, and the aesthetic is grotesque. I am 100% convinced they were a tranny because the only way I can see someone excusing this shit, let alone praising it as the greatest MV ever made, is if they are insane enough to castrate themselves. It isn't a MV in any meaningful sense, it is a visual novel with platforming between cutscenes. The platforming isn't even difficult, it just relies on traversal skills and the player coming back when they get them. The "bullet hell" battles are childish and predictable to the point where the moment I got access to the bed I had to change it from hard to expert and it still is a joke. The sigil system and i-frames trivialize combat and that isn't even factoring in shit like soul burst, expansion, and golden dodge.
Most of all the cutscenes are the worst. I genuinely feel embarrassed playing this shit.
People that unironically enjoy this garbage have to be the most cumbrained asocial schizo imaginable because I would be mortified trying to explain this to my gf, family, or friends.

I recently got around to finishing Factorio Space Age, I had stopped playing after getting burnt out shortly after arriving on Gleba but finally nutted up and returned to the game to finish the job. I left Gleba for last of the 3 midgame planets because I didn't think the tech unlocked there would be all that useful. Boy was I wrong, stack inserters and biolabs are straight up busted. After that Aquilo was no big deal and that left me with enough tech to make the final push to finish the game. Finally reaching the edge of space was unironically one of the most satisfying things I've ever accomplished in a video game.

Currently I'm getting addicted to Nuclear Option. It's only in early access but this game fucks. To those who don't know, NO is a simcade flight combat game. I've borrowed an old Saitek X52 HOTAS and after mapping buttons and getting used to everything it's been a lot of fun. I'm thinking of buying my own HOTAS if anyone has any suggestions for good midrange ones.

i have been playing revita recently which is a fun twin stick shooter with platforming
i beat shard 5 (which only 16.6% of the playerbase has) but i cant get to the true ending, it is just impossible
i saw a streamer do shard 5 for the first time and got a monster run that killed all enemies on screen in 2 seconds and got the true ending on his first fucking try while i have tried 20+ times with different weapons and never even got to the true final boss on most of them
im getting too old for gaming already

Anyone else like this:

>replay old favorites when new games get stale
>even nostalgic games are starting to play old and played out
Lately, all I play are the new quick "dopamine" games like runbased roguelites but even that genre is starting to feel samey and stale.
