Hi time for me to rave about the vessel some cause I don't have anywhere else to share my thoughts.

When you're first learning about themes of a story in... uh, grade school, I think, they teach you to analyze the first paragraph or such of a story, that a story will typically convey its theme pretty early on.
Deltarune, like Undertale in its first few minutes tells us the core theme, "Nobody can choose who they are in this world/Your choices don't matter" and "In this world it is kill or be killed.", and both games are set about proving these ideologies wrong. The good ending of undertale is not killing anyone, and Asriel telling you that the truth is, this world is "Don't kill and don't be killed."
Why this is important? Deltarune is obviously set on proving the idea of "Your choices don't matter wrong." and that you CAN choose who you are, despite Susie being forced into being a bully, she changes and chooses to become Kris' friend, it is why so many bosses and characters are redeemed, we are showing them they have a choice, they can choose who they are.
The vessel IS this time. It is literally just this time. It is who you CHOSE to be. It is your choices made manifest.
To truly prove the ideology of your choices not mattering wrong, the vessel HAS to return, because it is symbolical of our choices, the choice to be someone we wanted to be, that was stolen from us at the start of the game. And proving this ideology wrong, reclaiming the vessel, is the ultimate proof that in this world, your choices matter, you can choose who you want to be.

Noelle likes Susie more than just because she's a freak. Noelle used to watch horror movies with Dess when she was a child, and the memory of being scared like that makes her feel comforted.
It can be argued that the feelings Noelle has for Susie are related to the feelings that Noelle still has for Dess.
Not a shipfag or anything but I think the reason it doesn't feel as well developed is because we just see Susie and Ralsei and Kris together significantly more during the game, when canonically Susie has known Noelle and interacted with her for way longer.

Something small about Deltarune I love is that the technology seems to be stuck in the 90s/2000s. Dess and Asriel listen to CDs, the kids go to the computer lab to do school work, Tenna is a CRT, most computers besides Queen use CRTs, etc... Obviously this is because Toby is a millennial (and most people in this thread probably grew up with similar technology) but I sometimes wonder if younger Deltarune fans relate to it or if they feel like they’re playing a period piece. For me it gives it a permanently nostalgic vibe
