when you overheat swap to secondary, swap back (preferably talon). use it on planets with extreme cold modifier as it lowers heat buildup. no recoil but inaccurate spread means you aren't punished for hipfiring/crouching/going prone to retain recoil control

you can teleport into enemies to kill them, in your case its a workable solution for killing hive guards. but one of the uses that isn't talked about is that you can (if quick enough with dropping it) teleport the backpack instead of you. for what purpose? heavy killing.

epoch in my eyes works as a support AT (hurting/striping enemies of armor plating so a guy with the liberator can kill them) one cool use is to charge a shot up, teleport behind a hulk/charger and shoot their weak point. you can use the epoch for chaff clear but you can only ever get away with it if you're running supply pack. also you can reload the thing in midair using jump pack by pressing reload twice (this is applicable with every stationary reload weapon minus backpack)

Resharing this after a long drop-up most of it is the same but a few months of small clean-ups Am as always very open to hearing ideas or taking suggestions. I think the catapult and triceratops untins suffer a bit from serious overlap as being two version of artillery.

Just started playing, what should I work towards so I'm not an absolute shitter who drags the team down? HMG emplacement looked good so that's what I'm going for now. Some lvl 150 dropped in with mechs and a stationary tank gun thing that looked to be from the urban legends list, so that's what I'm saving up credits for in the long haul.

Emplacements are bad on everything but bots because both squids and bugs both run you down and don't give you space for it. Bots are slow and so you can take your time. As long as you have a shield generator relay to protect yourself you'll be fine.

HMG emplacement is good but stationary so very situational. Personally I think the starting loadout is very good so go for what you want, but getting some proper anti-tank might make things easier for you.

HMG Emplacement's all about getting it down ahead of time and in a good position, other anon said its weak to bugs and squids running you down and thats absolutely its biggest weakness BUT if you aren't throwing it down in the middle of an enemy call-in you should get enough enemies funnelling to you that you can kill them easily enough, with some exceptions for heavies like Bile Titans.

Honestly most of the early stratagems you can unlock like Eagle Airstrike or Strafing Run, Expendable Anti-Tank or Recoilless Rifle and the Gatling or MG Sentries are all solid picks for just about any situation and can carry you for a long while until you get sick of them or find something else you like more.

The only way to nerf leviathans is to follow through with Arrowhead's design credence of "they are meant to be avoided, not engaged" by ultimately removing them from the game. When that anti-content enemy isn't in the game, then players are 100% avoiding them all the time. Simple.

Thermite is still king, and not much has changed about Grenade Pistol, but I would not personally consider it top tier anymore since 6+2 grenades is still somewhat limiting in terms of ammo if you like busting spawners. Adjudicator has gotten better (and hell, most primary weapons have), you can do well with it but I personally consider Lib Penetrator to be a better all-round gun.

But mainly, a lot of new stuff got added to the game and you'll definitely want to try them out and take advantage of them, especially the new warbonds.

Focus primarily on Super Destroyer upgrades. The ones you need ASAP are Donation Access License and Expanded Weapons Bay, most of the rest you can get at your leisure depending on what your playstyle is (call in loads of sentries, orbital artillery vs. Eagle call-ins, etc.). Cooldown reductions go a long way towards making stratagems more usable, and once you eventually get Superior Packing Methodology and Morale Augmentation you'll be happy as a clam.

Accessing anti-tank weaponry is great but not absolutely necessary until you hit D6 or so. In the early going focus on unlocking armor penetration and chaff killers, the MG-43 that the game gives you for free is very strong and well-rounded but you'll eventually want others for more variety. The ones I would recommend unlocking ASAP are Autocannon and EAT, others that might come in handy are the HMG, Laser Cannon and Quasar Cannon. Backpacks can also be super handy, the Supply Pack, Shield Generator Pack and Guard Dog are good to have access to.

Don't focus too much on weapon customization, it's mostly optional and you'll be perfectly fine without it for a long time. You should be spending your requisition slips on support weapon unlocks first, those are far more impactful.

Other than all that, ignore Mines and Mortar Emplacements, and don't get too attached to Exosuits (they're super strong at low difficulties but become a joke past D8 or so). Sentries can be handy but don't rely on them to do all the work for you.

If you want to go full meta sweat, then stratagem wise some of the basic bitch ones that you unlock early are actually really fucking good. Eagle strafing run, EAT, MG sentry, orbital Gatling are all workhorses that work well in many situations. I like rocket sentry on the bot front. The supply backpack is also extremely strong. Meta primary weapons are things like the Eruptor/Xbow/Purifier from the democratic demolition and I think polar patriots warbond. Also, don't underestimate the default "extra padding" armor. It's deceptively good, if bland.

For a first warbond, the two that I would consider the hardest starting out are the following for the following reasons:

It just has a lot of USEFUL stuff in it. The Eruptor and Xbow are very meta for killing things, and explosive primaries are great for closing a billion bug holes. The grenade pistol is a popular utility tool for closing bug holes when you're using a variety of non-explosive primaries. The thermite grenade is a useful anti-tank option to have in your back pocket. the Adjudicator is a powerful assault rifle, but you'll need to unlock some modifications to make it handle better.

Everything in this warbond is HOT FUCKING GARBAGE as a fucking joke. Fuck Alexus, the retarded balance lead. However there is one exception: The warp pack. The warp pack is AMAZING. Not only is it just a straight up useful mobility tool, but it also notably allows you to teleport behind the blast doors of the friendship bunkers. This will help you collect the super credits inside when your teammates are too retarded to come help open the door.

So I'd say get those two first. Either get DD because it just has more good shit in it that will make you deadlier on the battlefield faster, or get the placebo group warbond purely for the warp pack to just min-max your super credit income.

the problem is that light pen weapons often require precision aiming. Precision aiming that is hampered by the fact that it is an unergonomic sack of shit. You put up with its bullshit in exchange for the MAG DUMP mode that can situationally achieve some kills against specific big enemies in specific weakpoints. If I were to rank it, I wouldn't rate it higher than a C+. If you want to enjoy some variety, then you can make it work. But I'm not going to recommend it to anyone. Ever.

The arc grenade has some usefulness at killing stuff, but its bounciness increases teamkill risk for no reason and its lack of demo force makes it lose a shit ton of utility. There is no reason to use it when the incendiary grenade is also good at denying an area for a long time and still can provide demo force utility.
