They really do not. Genshin, GFL 1 and 2, AL and Guardian Tales all take their story seriously and none of them pretend that the choices you make matters. In fact you don't even have any choices in most of them.

I think you've kind of putting it the wrong way. You know basic story has four parts with the last second part being climax and resolution. But problem is MLtard wanted to skip to the last stage and make all the girls get his dick wet from the get-go. I didn't play Wuwa but I followed the drama in the tonal shift of the story up to its launch. It feels jarring.
I know I wouldn't love my girl Helena META if I didn't warm up to her during the story. Instant gratification is just cheap, and the real meat is when you get to know of the girl. Not many could pull that off, that's why BA is kind of popular beyond the FoTM period of bunny asuna.
