I feel like I’ve wasted 15 years of my life, and my career has led me nowhere. At 35, I should be at my peak in terms of earnings and health, yet I’m a nobody. I keep ending up in shitty companies where I’m expected to do everything while getting paid less than gate keeper. For the past 10 years, I’ve designed websites, logos, mobile apps, print materials, books, t-shirt prints, labels, packaging, product photography, social media content, 3D designs, modeling, animation, and simulations. If I had focused on one thing from the start, I’d be an expert in a specific field by now and making decent money. Unfortunately, the harsh truth is this: if you are able to do anything that means you are good at nothing. When there are job listings for simple graphic work, they don’t want someone with 5+ years of experience. If they do want someone with 5 years of experience, they expect an expert in one particular niche. Today, no one even wants to spit in my direction. No one is looking for a 35-year-old guy who has done everything (but nothing specific) because they have 100 young, dynamic grads fresh out of college to choose from. The competition in the big city is just too strong. For the past 5 years, I’ve been working from home part-time, and somehow manage to pay the rent. The MS diagnosis broke me. Depression, no friends, far from family, always making excuses. If it weren’t for my wife earning well and help from my in-laws, I’d have nothing. It feels like everyone around me is doing fine, earning well, and building great careers - except me. I’m feeling down, I’m sick of this fucking city and its weather. I just needed to get this off my chest.

I feel like its missing something. Maybe a diff picture of jesus would work better? Idk. Suggestions?

So im new to the board, and ill cut to the point, I've been trying to grow as a nsfw artists, i started a little bit before ai started. Sometimes I don't feel motivated to draw, and i accept requests from ppl to expand, and I don't really care what I draw, as long as I can take it as a challenge, with a limit of drawing rape, gore, ect. But I've accepted drawing futa, trap, and loli, but I've been feeling like drawing loli might be a arrow to the knee in my reputation, the worst part is that it was the most popular illustration i did by the amount of likes.

I know that it's fictional character and there are a lot of popular nsfw artists who just draw stuff like that on the side and just never get shit for it. What is your opinion on this guys

In case you weren't aware, submissions are open for a little under 3 more days for this logo design contest! (2 days, 23 hours from this post, more or less.) Once all the designs are in, ranked-choice vote decides the main graphical element for the next 4chan inter-board CPU soccer cup!

(Yes this is the 2023 Autumn design; it's coincidentally being hosted by /co/ again, so cartoon and comic inspired designs are not necessary, but will probably do well. That and 2024 Autumn was hosted by the pony board and I don't wanna risk breaking containment.)

Super disheartening to see this. Any designer could have done an illustration, any number of local artists could have created a piece for this event. It's a seminal event that marks the reopening of Detroit’s Michigan central. Truly monumental moment for Detroit, highlighted by the crazy opening concert directed by Eminem and it wasn't worth getting a person to do the poster? Very sad.

This is one of those moments in the history of ai that I will look back on with genuine disgust.

Then you should know that at the current year of 2023 graphic design is pretty much dead. I was a professional gd for almost 10 years working in both studios and on my own and I can't really find a job anymore. It's not even because of AI to be honest, its because of how the industry works and how bad the corporate environment has become.

There's still web design, 3D and VFX/motion design(primarily 3D too) and if you want something similar or easy to transition then chose one of those but I'm not sure for how long they will be relevant themselves because of the AI which is basically a final nail in the coffin of gd. Of course there are and will be exceptions and maybe you will get lucky to find some obscure local business that needs you, but if you are young and looking for a career in the future you should stop consider becoming a graphic designer. This profession is dead.

Guys i've just made an account on Upwork and getting my first client is way harder than i though it'd be. I can make really good YouTube Thumbnail, Book Covers, and other Graphic Design related stuff.
But selling it while competing with other freelancers on Upwork who have done way more jobs than me is really challenging.
Also on reddit with my (very first) new account i can't connect with other people to alteast promote my work.

How can I fulfill my FLIR fetish? Asking here instead of /r/ because they couldnt answer this. I have a fetish for FLIR images plus women or stuff I find hot, but I like the additional layer. How can I make pics like this? AI can do it but not commercial AI accepts material that\s explicit or even lightly suggestive, defeating the point. Do I do this in photoshop? Do I use AI?

How would you apply a glitch effect like this to text and images?

Glitch effects like this are (and I am trying to achieve) seemingly random, asymmetrical, etc. Is there particularly techniques or tools to do something like this, or is it just a pain in the ass "do each bit one by one" sort of deal?

Ultimately I don't want something as extreme as this, something much more minor (just for a single line of text really) so my first thought as a retard is to just go in to paint and shift a few lines of pixels left or right

Trying to figure out a ban where the core idea is a way to have the second "E" in "series" be composed of "OU" so it could be interpreted as "serious". I don't think this design lands, at all, it's giving radiator manufacturer vibes, not anything related to review. Is this salvageable?

I am trying to generate some images for a tech company, promotion/shwag related.

Because tech company, images should include features related to the business, Drones, buildings, communication equipment. The two generators I have tried keep rejecting the images because they think they are terry propaganda or some shit.
