is russia actually out of tanks ?
big armored assault have become very rare now and tank losses numbers have fallen of a cliff
we knew losses > new/refurbished tanks but has it actually happen ? or are they just stockpiling for later ?

they aren't really out of tanks, but they are reaching a point where even they can't ignore the fact they are losing fare more than they could replace, and thats without accounting for things such as needing a reserve force for defensive situations, in other words they are pretty much forced to casually throwing them into meat grinders, you will still see the occasional assult with them but they will become rarer

Vehicles are leaving storage at a much greater rate than confirmed losses are piling up, and nobody is reporting getting run the fuck over by armored columns. That's all we know for sure. We can be pretty confident that they have to strip multiple vehicles to get a working example, but even that doesn't cover the discrepancy. It's a black box and one of the larger outstanding question marks at this time.

I can see sparing being the biggest fucker to working on old diesel shit. Like it great if you've got off the shelf, brand new pumps, gaskets, injectors and about a billion miles of fresh rubber dicks to put through all the stuff that's full of holes.
Because if you don't have brand new spares for that tank you're working on from... 30, 40 or 50 years ago. Well then its going to go off an get reconditioned. Which can be alright if its alternators, starters and some fuel pumps, but there's also a whole lot of other shit out there which might have to be scratch built and this isn't the era of plug in a computer and tell me were the bad conscript touched you.
Its also no always the era of 'power pack out, put new one in' like a lot of designs. Some stuff you can, some of it is major surgery to get in there

Outside of aircraft, Ukrainian claims have tended to hover pretty consistently around the 3:1 mark against confirms over the course of the war. That cuts down a lot of the margin and mostly shifts the question marks over to erroneous claim/recovery percentage, full fresh (minus import components) T-90M production, and just how many tanks they had hidden away from satellite observation. I'll leave it to your discretion how much stock you want to put in the claim count.

The whole point of the NATO campaign in Ukraine was simply to whittle down Putin's tank numbers.
by neither allowing Putin to put Ukraine in half, nor enforcing a no fly zone, NATO dragged the conflict on for years. Germany figures they will just win with money.

The part people may have missed here is that the way technology is going, tank chassis and main guns have become very valuable. far more valuable than military planners predicted, Putin's rusted out tank battalions were a goldmine.
They thought that guided munitions would make MBT obsolete, a combinations of HIMARS, JAVLIN and air to surface misiles would just delete entire tank battalions. but one thing drones are really, really good at doing it turns out is protecting tanks. they replace the troop perimeter, they allow tanks to operate CBRN, but medium range drones are a significant threat to HIMARS and similar systems.

Tanks are pretty much all going to be deployed with a surveillance drone which just chases anti tank crews around with night optics, and at the battalion level tanks are being deployed with S400 theater coverage and medium range drones. Bear in mind Putin never really attempted air superiority, so his forces are very heavy on point defense, SAM and mobile AA. NATO chose fighter sueriority, and is finding their fighters poor value against unmanned air threats.

It's just that both sides have adapted to modern warfare and now use expensive equipment like tanks or fighter jets much more cautiously. The age of tank columns and large armored units storming over plains is over because with satellites and drone surveillance you can't mass more than 10 tanks at the same place without the risk of being blown up by missiles/bombs/artillery/drones.

>is russia actually out of tanks ?
No
>big armored assault have become very rare now and tank losses numbers have fallen of a cliff
In the paraphrased words of Michael Kofman, why use tank assaults when infantry assaults take more ground?
They've discovered that infantry infiltration tactics a la WW2 IJA are more effective so they've stopped "Deep battle" aka throwing armour at the problem and hoping something breaks
>we knew losses > new/refurbished tanks
Other way round
>are they just stockpiling for later ?
Yes
They also use tanks to consolidate and defend ground
This is part of the reason why they're gaining at (less than) a snail's pace; because the rate of advance now is calculated by footpower not horsepower

>Western sources, not Russian propaganda, claim 300 T-90 per year
Traceable to one (1) German dipshit thinktank of no repute staffed by academician retards

Actual figures given from prewar Russian figures and cited by reputable NATO sources were about 10 brand new T90Ms a year and 30 refurbs from T90A chasses. Assuming they can triple production by working 24/7, this means they can build 30 new and 90 converts a year. However the T90A chasses have pretty much all been pulled from storage as confirmed by Covertcabal's satellite photos, so they may now have to convert T72 chasses instead. Who knows how long that will take.

They've talked about restarting T80 production but fuck knows how long that will take as well. I can't recall the last time any T80s were built from scratch.

No. Of course not. Russia's stockpiles are infinite. Bigger than infinite. Infinitier. You wouldn't know them though because they go to a different school upstate on a big farm in Canada where they can run around with other infiniest stockpiles in a big field all day. Russia stopped using tanks because tanks are obsolete because drones are unstoppable except when the Russians cover their tanks in tetanus shrines in which case drones are completely stoppable. It doesn't matter that Russia's stockpiles are running out because Russia makes a hundred T-14s a month, we haven't seen them because Putin's been saving them for the big offensive that'll start in two weeks but they won't use tanks in the big offensive that starts in two weeks because driving scooters straight into concertina wire and dying works better anyway and two weeks from now when no offensive materializes then no one will have ever claimed there'd be an offensive in two weeks.

As Spanish speaker English feels awfully repetitive and rigid. Compared to English, in Spanish you can (and you should) omit a lot of words and rely on suffix or signs to retain the same meaning, even if the subtext changes.

Hearing a English native to over use pronouns in Spanish is annoying.

Honestly they probably still have a decent amount left, the problem is that they simply lack the officers corps and logistics to do anything beyond what they are doing right now (battalion/regiment level tactical maneuvers where they take a kilometer every other week). It's why they are running a peasant army model and changing it would require a massive officer corps development program and then to integrate said corps into the command structure itself which is something they are either unwilling or unable to do

NTA, the big picture can largely be summed up as "if this war ends on terms even remotely favorable to Russia, they will take it as encouragement to be even more retarded in the future". And as much as that would go incredibly poorly for them, an invasion of Poland or the Baltics is still more of a shitshow to clean up than no invasion. Run that through several layers of bureaucracy, politics and sensationalist reporting, and you end up with "ZOMG RUSSIA GONNA ATTACK!"

And Russia, to the extent it can, does lean into this, moving whatever little they can spare west and trying to sell it as a buildup, with the intended message being "this shit ain't nothing to me, I can still take all you on, be grateful the Bear has indulged your bullshit this long, you should stop sending weapons front stuck front stuck please I beg you."

Except that Russia is still a credible threat, it's just not the war you have in mind. Of course, there's always the possibility that they aim for a Berlin thunder rush out of retardation.

First of all, NATO will not invade Russian territory in their current state. The current leadership is too pussy for that. A proportional response would be what's expected.

Also, US support isn't really a guarantee. Trump is a literal retard and he's surrounded by people who hate Yuros. There will be further elections in Europe, and some retarded isolationist far right governments winning isn't that absurd, like Hungarians are now. Basically, the situation isn't a fully unified NATO taking on Russia, it's potentially a smaller amount of countries having to do that while the others are spazzing out. And that's before even considering whoever would flake out when facing Russian nuclear threats.

And once you take these into account, taking on Russia isn't that easy because even if say Poland, the Baltics and a few more can absolutely annihilate Russia's active forces, it then turns into a war of attrition and Russians are literally worthless. Occupying Moscow requires immense manpower if they even dare risk that, so you just end up with another war like Ukraine, that just fucks everyone and wastes tons of lives.

And I'm not even going to go into Chinese involvement.

The point is, they're warning about the worst potential scenarios, not the ideal war where TZD is achieved. I could probably write this post better but I'm on my phone.

None of these things matter because Russia is not, in fact, a credible threat. Their economy is in shambles, their future as a nation has been destroyed, they'll spend the next century rebuilding just to get back to where they were at the start of the war, which was already bad. Hard sanctions will stay in, which will make it very difficult to get going again, and its very likely that they'll balkanize entirely and cease to exist as a single independent nation.

Whether the US, NATO, or anyone else enters in at this point is irrelevant. Russia has already obliterated any chance they have of retaining a seat at the table. If the war ends tomorrow, and it won't, Russia has still already lost. Simple as.

Baltics, poland, finland are the only guaranteed combatants with denmark, germany and sweden doubling down on rear support if the front shows any sign of turning into ukraine style trench grindr. vatniks do have other axes to grind like armenia and azers but their imperial schizophrenia has made it amply clear they dont want more churkas in their ranks so outright military invasion is lower on the priority list. their wet dream is occupying ukraine, moldova, belarus, lihtuania, latvia, estonia before going into central asia

That's not the point. NATO will never invade Russian territory even if attacked, or at least not without some serious changes in leadership. And this means that Russia can get away with starting retarded wars.

Russians are literally worthless and monke in chief, whether it's Putin or the next, will always be happy to kill a million Russians over nothing. So while NATO will go after the economy and probably trash the forces that enter their territory, none of it will ever be considered as a deterrent by Russians. A bad economy will make them even angrier and hateful of anyone who isn't poorer. A million deaths will just be a glorious sacrifice for the motherland, before going for it again.

The problem is that they're consistently like this, and if people keep treating them like a non-threat, they will eventually achieve something.

NTA, but Russia is screwed in any reasonable peace scenario, and is thus unlikely to ever offer or accept reasonable terms. I'm not even talking about the unlikelihood of economic soft-landing either.
Let's say that that Ukraine says that Russia can keep the territory it has right now. That's not good enough for Russia. The Kremlin (feels like it) needs Ukraine to be demilitarized and totally severed from NATO and the EU. If Ukraine keeps its army, which is a given, then Russia will never be able to let its guard down. It will have a militarized border hundreds and hundred of miles long that it has to keep manned. Forget any nonsense about a Baltic war. Any new Russian war kicks off in Eastern Europe, and Ukraine will immediately jump back in. The Finns did it in 1941; it's just naked self-interest.
Putin will never get the terms he desires, not until he realizes that the Donbas is the LAST territory Russia will gain in his lifetime.

Infantry infiltration tactics work well in this case because the AFU is thinly strung out

the problem for Trump and putin is that what putin wants Trump can't give. And Trump has already given up his leverage to force anyone else from giving it.
there are only a few things that the US alone can supply and those thing it has committed to suppling to several European nations. even if it where to withhold those thing it wouldn't be enough to force them or the Ukranians to give putin what he wants.
while Europe can't fully replace US aid it is producing and giving enough already to keep Ukraine in the fight for at least an other two years.
at the same time the US lifting it's sanctions wouldn't bail out the russians. the US was good for 4% of russian trade Europe for over 40%. and Trump can't force them to buy russian hydrocarbons 9r to export goods to russia.
any move that Trump does make to try and force Ukraine/Europe is going to spook al the USA's aisian allies and the countries it wants to get involved in it's containment of China.
it's US foreign policies catch 22, you don't want to be to involved in Europe because you want to be involved in Asia. but being to uninvolved in Europe you make it harder to be involved in Asia.

Seethe and cope. Americans are spineless little cucklets and somehow Europeans are even more pathetic than you. Russia has one arm tied behind its back the entire conflict and still won. SEETHE

Kekekekek there won't be a reserve to plug this gap. ukraines command are utterly freaking out and too busy falling back. They can't organize a response because they're too busy RUNNING AWAY. the rest of the line will collapse soon in disarray without orders or reinforcements.

Seethe. Russia just pushed 30km into Ukraine and forced Ukraine Frontline HQ to retreat in disorder. They have failed to organize reserves or to retreat the rest of their line. Multiple cauldrons will be forming soon and the hohols will be forced to retreat to avoid encirclement. As they try to do that Russians tank reserves will be flooding into the opening, killing multiple retreating Ukrainian. This is a complete disaster for Ukraine and even the NATO shills on Twitter and crying about it. Seethe. This is just the beginning of a massive route. Stay in denial tho! Cya tomorrow when Ukraine's situation gets even worse ahaha

Last I checked it was 30km but with the speed of the Russian motorcycle advance, it could be more now. 60 isn't a number I've heard reported but I wouldn't be surprised.
