Its too "on the nose" that Carol must be evil with the direction Toby went. Which mean Carol is 100% innocent in order for twist to happen. Considering that next chapter is Asgore focused, I'm assuming Asgore is working with the knight and informed Carol about "Susie messing with her daughter belonging" which is why Carol seemed like she was interrputing getting the shellter code. We are going to fight Asgore next chapter, not Carol.
