Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, or it's just that I don't have a degree in psychology, but even if taking into account the possibility that Susie grew up in an abusive household, usually the defensive personas are hard to shatter when the individual is conditioned to act like this. Even if the events of chapter 1 really affected her heavily, she would need at least a couple of hours to process it, and not immediately go "let's got back there tomorrow".
Maybe I'm just overthinking a very hookful story. Who knows.

the healing spell maxes out after using it a few times completely separately from fighting him, same is true even in chapter 3, it's just not remotely worth actually using except either when you're forced to like that battle or once it's fully maxed AND she has some +magic gear on (then it's roughly 2x ralsei's heal with no magic boosting gear, for 2x the TP... still not GREAT but good enough that i'm actually really impressed with her fast progress desu, good girl!)
the attack going up probably is tied to actually attacking, rather than defeating enemies, like final fantasy 2 leveling, so if you attack him a bunch her attack goes up maybe? I haven't tested it but that sounds about right. Makes me wanna attack but not fully defeat enemies 'till the stats max in future chapters if true, especially since we'll probably face more bosses we HAVE to attack like the titan.
