His owner, Masatsugu Takezono, was ambitious as fuck and wanted to make his own stud business. That made him hostile to other groups that already had a strong foothold, and when you piss off groups with connections that closes a lot of doors for you. A phone call from someone with more power in the business can suddenly mean no mares for Opera-kun. There's also the matter of his pedigree.

I mean if you want to look at it through such a generous lens then you're free to. I just don't see any glory in coming in fifth. It's like watching a senior baseball player whose lost their swing still trying to recapture the athlete they were. Sure you have empathy for them, and you'll never stop loving the performer they were, but they aren't 'that' guy anymore. As said though I'm not trying to shit on your take, just sharing how I look at it personally.

It's because of Ryuji Wada. He was a highly inexperienced jockey who didn't know how to 'handle' Opera. During the year of dominance, he plainly admitted that he'd stopped attempting to control Opera and allowed him to run on his own. This earned a lot of media trash talk from other jockeys who called him pathetic for even having the gall to say that. But it seemed to work. Opera suddenly going down-hill after that year reflects what happens to a lot of race horses. One day, they just don't have 'it' anymore.

>already have designs, VAs, and personalities for new umas
>already have their 3d models and animations done since they're enemies in races
>but it took JP years for them to finally release umas that have been ready since launch like fine motion, manhattan cafe, etc.

In what sense? They're a high level horse IRL but they're not in the GOAT conversation for ability. Fame-wise they could be called a GOAT given that they started a boom of popularity and brought women who found him cute into the sport. (Horse plushes only got sold by the JRA because women wanted an Oguri plushie).

In-Game she's a very good unit right now, but there is better to come.

If you mean in actual physical 'power'? Then it's probably Hishi Akebono, that horse was fucking massive.

The only yuri in this game is how they write Daiwa Scarlet and Vodka. And even they have trainer pandering events. Everyone else pretty blatantly are only friends. Though I feel like Meisho would put out for Opera if Opera asked. (Opera would only make out with her own reflection, thoughever).
