Because it absolves the person saying it of having to make a real and actual argument of why a game is bad without having to play it. Best example would be concords gameplay being literally destiny but worse with a $40 price tag, and instead of having a discussion about what the fuck went wrong or why the game was in development hell for so long or even why it costed so much to make, we instead got nothing but retards who don't play video games desperately trying to pin the entire downfall of the game on being "woke" because the designs were ugly. It's basically a sign that you shouldn't even waste you're time talking to them in any serious fashion.
