i think it has to do as well with the lighting snapping instead of the quick but steady darken 3 did. and while 3 did have a slowdown effect it was only super noticeable when it was the final monkey you had to collect or it was one of those stronger monkeys that can dodge your net easily and counter with a move that knocked your gadget off instead of going super slow for every capture with the most basic of net swipes.
do agree with the other anon that 1 had the best net (million monkeys is slightly behind but only due to that game being more action focused so catching monkeys unless it's a special one that gives you a bio isn't front and center).
