/r/anime is pretty objectively in a much better state than /a/, I don't think anyone else is to blame when this place is the worst there is. Allowing generals and dailies to be spammed everywhere is what killed it and stomped out all discourse. There's nothing interesting here, I feel coming here now is like arguing with asshurt little kids and if you try to make a fun thread someone will just desperately try to slide it within an hour while generals are up for like 6 days straight.

Umamusume has surpassed Secretariat in popularity. It's a love letter to the intricacies and history of Japanese horse racing, it covers various tracks and why they're important, the differences between track lengths and turf, types of horses like front runners and closers, famous incidents in racing history (https://youtu.be/P26Opa7F5g0), and it puts a face to all these elements in an endearing way. Instinctively acting with disgust towards things you don't understand is generally a signifier for poor emotional intelligence.

>How is it any better
Finding the right combination of cards and making the optimal choices in career is enjoyable. It's ultimately very simple once you figure out how everything works, but there's a lot to figure out, especially when you consider that every horse has different styles and campaigns. So for a free game I could see someone totally disinterested in gacha easily sinking 50 hours into it and that still being time well spent, especially when there's an accompanying manga and anime that's actually really shockingly good. It's a fun sports simulator mechanically, with a great accompanying franchise, and it made me really think about Japanese horse racing which I never would have done previously.

With other gacha I find the typical "gameplay" is either
>your input only matters superficially and you progress until you hit a power brick wall
Or
>Endless crappy busy work bolted to a terrible VN

Neither of these apply to umamusume. (At the moment)

To be fair this is pretty hideous and I do not like that AI produces nothing but pulpy clickbait garbage.

>asscreed combat
>toucan sam follow your nose vision
>6 hour long game with 2 hours of cutscenes
>really it's more like 5 hours of the game is cutscenes because everything is slow and over cinematic
>half the game is just running down hallways
>batman takes up like 1/3 of the screen at all times
Dude what, this is one of the worst games I have ever played in my entire life

All elder scrolls games are bad. If the only thing you can compare a game to is shitty games, well, it's a shit game. It's like that patriciantv guy who acts like morrowind is the second coming of christ and when you check his channel he exclusively plays the most mind numbing slop. If you've only played trash your opinion is worthless.

What's the point of debating what shows are good or not on a board that's stupid enough to like panty and stocking? Even reddit isn't this shitty, no one's opinion here matters.

BG3 doesn't belong here, it gives the player complete freedom while tying them to a handful of narrative anchor points, like rpgs in the 80s and 90s. No two bg3 playthroughs will ever be exactly the same between different individuals by virtue of how many permutations there are. The other games don't do this at all.
