I've tried to grow peppermint in a well-drained pot, but it eventually turned slightly purple and got infected with powdery mildew.
I know it was due to "overwatering" but the moment I stopped watering it as regularly (1 time every 2-3 days) the leaves would wither.

I just wanted some healthy peppermint for my tea and I was told it was easy to grow and I basically didn't need to do anything, but it was a lie...

This is a nice mindset to have but I can never help but think it's really retarded. The things outside of your control directly impact you in a lot of ways. "Things outside of my control" have made my hobbies not only harder to do but also more expensive. It's good to have a strong immediate social circle and community but these things "outside of your control" can and will actively make your life worse.
